they are gutting a body of water is a Philadelphia-based shoegaze band. TAGABOW began as a solo project by New York singer, songwriter and guitarist Douglas Dulgarian, who released two EPs under the name between 2016 and 2017. The band’s debut album, Gestures Been, arrived in 2018. It was followed one year later by their sophomore effort, Destiny XL, which featured TAGABOW’s biggest single to date, “eightball.” Weeks after releasing the split EP An Insult to the Sport with A Country Western in 2022, the band shared their third album Lucky Styles (also referred to as s). In 2023, TAGABOW unveiled their fourth album, Expansion Pak. The four-piece currently consists of Dulgarian, drummer Ben Opatut, bassist Emily Lofing and guitarist PJ Carroll.
