Fantastic is the only word to describe this production. It is well worth the money. Our son Nolan loved it, almost as much as my husband and I did.....ha ha

A Perfect Show for my 2.5 year-old grandson

by HappyGrandma on 2011-03-22Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Matthew is a devoted Thomas fan -- he has a Thomas the Tank Engine wheels that is kept in the station (closet) at grandma and grandpa's house; he took Rosie (apparently a relatively new Thomas friend) to the show. He was enthralled by the excellent stage presences of Thomas and Percy. He isn't one to "clap along", but I am so I had a good time too. I wish there had been more photo opportunities and staff to take the pictures. I also wish there had been an opportunity to buy a couple of more seats at a reduced price to be given "by Thomas" to families who may not have been able to afford the rather hefty price of the seats.

A little more Thomas would make the world well

by PapaDappa on 2011-03-22Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

All in all I would do it again but if recommending to others would have to note that this is a good introduction for kids to theatre. Was expecting more of a showcase on the train characters and frankly, a better storyline. Having attended other kids shows and other plays on the whole I'm comfortable saying it could have been done differently without costing much more. In short, wanted to see more of the trains.

    Thomas & Friends

by Brat01 on 2011-03-22Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

The performance was perfect. Took my 3 year old granddaughter and she was in awe of the show. She absolutely loved Thomas, Percy and Diesel. The performance was just the perfect timing for a 3 years old and she left there with many memories and stories that she told her mom and dad.

    It was GREAT!!!!

by dharshi on 2011-03-22Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My son had an amazing time. The show was great and the songs were fun. The only thing is there was a break in the middle of it. I understand it's a kids show and all but the show wasnt that long and the kids got restless during break.

    What a show!

by Dotter on 2011-03-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This show was the best children's show we've been to as a family. It was upbeat and tonnes of fun from the first second! Very interactive. The whole family was "peeping" and cheering for Thomas and Percy! The scenes were absolutely amazing - especially the diamond mine. It was a great treat to see Thomas and Percy as real engines driving around on stage. The cast was exceptionally talented - singing, acting and dancing with so much energy! My family would go to this show again in a heartbeat!

    Entertaining

by mg12 on 2011-03-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My 3 year old daughter greatly enjoyed the show but she was disappointed that more of the engines did not participate and it was only Percy and Thomas. There were times that I felt there was too much talking considering the age of the audiance Overall it was fun and we enjoyed it

Thomas and Friends was an awesome show. My 18 month old son, and his two 2yr old cousins, sat through the entire performance. I would definitely recommend this show for children and adults of all ages.

    A great experience!

by Bookmum on 2011-03-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My 3-year-old daughter loved it. The trains were well animated and exciting; when she first saw Thomas my daughter turned to me and said "It's the real Thomas! He's here!" She was thrilled. The human cast was teriffic, especially Sir Topham Hat. Good singing and dancing, great interaction with the kids, and lots of opportunities for the little ones to participate. Totally worth the ticket price.

Great but the same as previous years :(!

by Gina on 2011-03-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This show was highly enjoyable the first time around! However children don't forget anything and saying that the 2nd time around they remembered everything! Had I not paid over $230 for a family of 5 then I would not have minded the pricey tag!!!

The show was really nice. We loved the fact that it was interactive. My 3 year oId son loved it. He got a bit scare though during the time Percy and Thomas were at the mine (it was dark and the music got him a bit scare). I would have expected to see more of Thomas friends live (such as Gordon and Harold). Overall, it was a nice show and I would defenitely recomend it.

Thomas was a nice treat for the kids

by SalmaRK on 2011-03-21Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

All of the kids, between the ages of 2 1/2 years to 5 years were very excited to see Thomas. The story was easy to follow and the length of the show at 90 minutes, with a 15 minute intermission, was just right. It was disappointing that only 3 engines were shown during the entire show, Thomas, Percy and Toby. What I found incredibly frustrating was the number of parents who refused to heed the warnings against taking pictures. I have no idea why so many people feel the need to take pictures and video during a live performance as it is incredibly distracting to others sitting around them. Additionally, sometimes the noise of the crowd was so loud that it drowned out the voices of the characters, again, an issue with parents not disciplining their children. The prices were a little steep, especially for a 90 minute show, but the bottom line was that everyone had a good time, so I would recommend it.

    Exceptionally well done

My son was absolutely astonished & had an incredible time. Having the actors come right into the audience made it feel even more interactive. Just an exceptional job.
