Fabulous musicians, state of the art venue. Always glad I went to a TBSO performance.
Sat in the mezzanine and was impressed with acoustics as I generally sit on main floor. My only complaint is that the auditorium allows seating AFTER the scheduled time of the concert, when 1000 can make it on time perhaps there should be a way to penalize late comers.
A superb evening of entertainment by the Badanai Theatre cast and the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra! Outstanding acoustics !! Sadly only a one-night performance so many missed a truly memorable production. And the ticket price made it a bargain!!!!
Such a great show with so much local talent!!👏🏻👏🏻
Kevin Chen is a very gifted young pianist. The visiting conductor Naomi showed Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra at their best. The presence of a Contrabassoon in Beethoven's 5th is always a musical treat.
The Beethoven concert is at the top of TBSO concerts over past 35 years. Pianist was incredible. The Symphony playing was the best. They had a big sound despite the relatively small orchestra size. Memorable!
Kevin Chen's beyond human performance brought me to tears. The symphony and conductor were a tight group and achieved an astounding musical evening.
The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra is filled with so much talent. The orchestra is amazing that entertains whatever the music from Rock to Classical. Thunder Bay is blessed with this orchestra and the people should come out and be entertained and to support these talented artists. Remember without community support this unique part of Thunder Bay can not exsist
This evening was so enjoyable. The musicians certainly knew how to get the best from their instruments. There were singalongs, comedy and heartfelt numbers by the symphony orchestra. It was my first Pops concert but it won't be my last; I will be making this a Christmas tradition. My teenage granddaughter accompanied me and she was also thoroughly entertained so this is great entertainment for the younger generation as well as the older generation. I am so happy that I was able to attend.
How fortunate we are in Thunder Bay to be treated to such world class entertainment! Our symphony is simply the best. The choir is also excellent and deserves full credit for the best accompaniment. We were treated to a bit of jazz, big band, contemporary and traditional Christmas music in one evening. Not to mention their wonderful score of the Night Before Christmas. How lucky can you get!!! To add to the amazing night we had the incredible and very talented Ukrainian dancers. Truly a spirit lifting holiday event. Thank you to all organizers.
Rachel Krehm has a truly beautiful heart and voice. It was a treat to be able to attend the concert. Evan demonstrated his skill as conductpr with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra performing an excellent concert. An excellent night out.
What a great night with symphony pops! The Rocky horror picture show did not disappoint! The singing, the musicians, the humor, everything was fantastic! I highly recommend!
Great performance. The TBSO is a very talented orchestra. I recommend takingbb van in the next performance to everyone.
Wow, that Barber violin concerto was amazing! Thomas Cosbey's playing was completely thrilling. Overall, the harmony and precision of this orchestra was top notch. The selection of pieces in this first Masterworks of 2023-24, each executed so beautifully, was delightful. Full disclosure, I am the parent of one of the new players there, and I was very impressed. Also impressed by the orchestra's interest in the musical needs of Thunder Bay and outlying communities.
Loved all the songs , symphony was great. The singers and the band were wonderful and the symphony enriched the whole.
Fabulous evening!!! Delightful combination of Rock and talented symphony members. So glad we have this Gem within our community!!! do you love
Who knew?! The local Ojibways had horses, a special small tough breed adapted to life at -40 degrees. They were almost extinct, but a brave and persistent indigenous woman saved the last ones, and now there are a few hundred. The concert was a celebration of that. It combined multi-media, narration, singing, the Thunder Bay Orchestra ( the best little orchestra in North America!... right here in small Thunder Bay). And an incredible musical composition by composers Kevin Lau, Jodi Contin, and Andrew Balfour. Another great concert Thursday night! Go to www.tbso.ca, See you there?!
I love going to our symphony performances and I try always to sit up front. Row A is perfect, I can watch all the musicians and really get into the music. We are so fortunate to have such a group of talented and decimated musicians.
Great programme and superb performances! One of the best!
I really enjoyed the Badanai theatre group singing with the orchestra!!! I hope they make it a regular event(s)!
