    terrible show!

by grief on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I know shows are obviously geared to children, but from all the shows I have gone to, this was by far the worse. Story was unbelievably terrible, routines were amateurish and corny as all get out, and looked like a rehearsal. My kids liked it though, but my 6 year old was bored, as was I.

    Toopy and Binoo was unforgettable!!!

by JoeD12345 on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

There are times where mere words cannot express the sheer beauty of a guy in a giant mouse outfit singing. This is one of those times. It was a trascendental experience. I am forever changed. Eh, the kids liked it.

    Not a great show.

by yessam on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I was somwhat disappointed by this show. It started with what I think was the same irritating octopus character as the backyardigans show last year. There were also other characters that seemed familiar from that show. I would think that they make enough money on these productions to not have to reuse costumes. My child and others around us did not seem very impressed. There was much more focus on the octopus than onToopy. Did not really understand the theme and how it related to the script. The best part was being able to buy Toopy merchandise, since that is difficlt to find. I would not go again, BORING!

My son loves Toopy & Binoo and this show didn't disappoint! Very musical.. perhaps could have had a bit more comedic moments.. but otherwise Mrs. Octopus and Toopy and Binoo were great!

Toopy and Binoo is not worth your time

by Shiney on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

This was one of the most boring and uninteresting shows I have ever seen. My 2 and 4 year olds were interested for the first 10 minutes or so, but then became restless. They were ready to leave by intermission, but we stayed. Being at the Centre for the Performing Arts, I figured it would be fantastic. But instead we were forced to sit through 90 minutes of a show that is better suited to an amateur venue. It was difficult to hear the words when the characters were talking and impossible to understand the lyrics to the songs. The songs were not catchy at all. It was not worth our time or money. Too bad.

    Leave Toopy to TV

by Auzer on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

My daughter (who is almost 3 years old) loves Toopy and Binoo. Everday after preschool, when asked what she wants to watch before dinner, it will always be Toopy and Binoo - luckily we have a PVR! So, it was a no-brainer shelling out the $100+ for a family of four to go see the show. Boy were we in for a disappointment! We should have figured that this was not going to be one of the top-notch kids shows that we've been to - Wiggles (amazing!) and Yo-Gabba-Gabba (amazing!) - these shows didn't start off with a foreign character telling us to "use our imagination". For the next 2 hours, we had to endure a low-action, non-interactive, visually unstimulating (only 2 set changes), obvious puppetry (they even showed the guy holding the puppet at the end!), unfamiliar songs, and general lack of storyline (well there was one and it dragged on and on and on). This is the first kids show that I've ever been to that I saw people leaving before the end - I don't blame them. The only reason why I gave it two stars was that they sold the elusive Toopy and Binoo doll as souvenirs - luckily for me I found mine online and didn't have to shell out an arm and a leg for them as the hundreds of other T&B fans did.

Really terrible! I was so excited for my kids, I thought wow they are bringing them to life! It was missing the most important part, taking the audience away. People around us left before it was over, kids crying, antsy in their seats. Not impressed and feel ripped off

    Bad Show !!

by theprofiler on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

We ( our daughter 5 years old included) love kids shows and musicals. We go to about 4 or 5 shows per year and have definitely seen much better shows for children that we as adults even enjoyed. The most interesting part about this show was that it is Toopy and Binoo show ( popular theme) other than that in terms of music, story and production it is very low quality. Most children as well as adults were board and started talking and murmuring, because it was not engaging at all. It was a major disappointment and tickets were not cheap at all $30/ person. We definitely expected much better !

    Toopy and Binoo show

by motherload on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Was a very cute show....though perhaps a bit too long. Even with the intermission, by the end nearly all the kids were restless and ready to go. Was just under 2 hours.

    This was a miss......

by Stilllaughing on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

For the amount of money they charged, it was a pretty poor production. Set was pretty bland, and the songs were nothing memorable, and judging from the amount of noise from the people, it didn't manage to hold anyone's attention. What a shame - it's such a great TV show!

    Toopy & Binoo Live

by Toopysfriend on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Great show, very true to the cartoon character on TV, and my kids loved every moment of it, especially with the sing alongs. Well worth the time and money.

Toopy and Binoo were brought to life

by JMS4 on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

I was initially a bit unsure of how the TV show would be translated into a live show but it was really well done - the screens behind incorporated cartoon scenes, the first set looked exactly like their living room, and Toopy and Binoo looked, sounded, and acted real. The TV relationship between these characters was perfectly mimicked and the story was quite imaginative and creative. My 4 year old was enthralled! My only complaint - it was a bit long and there were a few too many songs for my liking, especially at the end, when I thought it was done, they did "one more song". The first act was 45 minutes, then a 15 min intermission, and then another 45 minute set. It could have been cut down in time since most of the audience was quite young. A lot of families around us left before the end.

Toopy and Binoo show was disappointing

by Anonymous on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

The costumes were great but the show itself was disappointing. It was basically 90 minutes of songs and not much story/dialogue with Toopy & Binoo. They should have at least had songs that the kids knew....the music seemed like it was more for the adults. My son giggles at the Toopy & Binoo show on tv but there was very little or no humour in the concert.

Toopy and Binoo entertained the kids

by BenitoM on 2011-01-10The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

While Toopy and Binoo is not my idea of scintillating entertainment, I have to say that my 5 year old daughter was spellbound. She didn't take her eyes off the stage the entire time that the cast was on and claimed that she "couldn't wait" for the 15 minute intermission to be over. I noticed that other children seemed equally entertained. I would recommend this show for any parent to take their pre-school or kindergarten children to see.

Toopy and Binoo appeals to the preschool aged toddler...most toddlers either go to bed at 8 pm or nap around 1 pm. Both Vancouver shows started during those critical sleep times. Add on to that a late start and a 15 minute break during the 1.5 hour show. Having said all that, my 2 year old loved the first bit of the show (we only lasted until break time).

    Great time!

by Shefflangleygirl on 2011-01-09Bell Performing Arts Centre - Surrey

My 4 1/2 year old son and I went to the Toopy and Binoo show at the Bell Performing Arts Centre and had a great time. The show was about 1 hour and 15 minutes in total broken into two parts with a 15 minute intermission. It was just long enough and the singing and dancing kept my son's attention the whole time. I thought the sets were great and the ticket price was just right for the show.

    Good show overall!

by Dyan on 2011-01-09Bell Performing Arts Centre - Surrey

Toopy and Binoo need to work the crowd a bit better and the intermission was also longer than said, and the set start time was running a little late. Other than that, my two girls 4 and 6 enjoyed the show.
