Living in Toronto for the past 5 years and TIFF being just around the corner , was really just another regular passing pedestrian/runner view alongside AGO or Rogers Centre , until this year when I had the time and decided to experience the everhyped film festival, and was totally charmed! From the Lightbox to tiff shop to Cafe Varda to Canteen to visa screening rooms of POW every corner is beautiful and full of art, information and charm. Was fortunate to align with a showing of The Wizard Of the Kremlin on its North American Premiere in TIFF. The movie was Captivating, Dramatic and Sensitizing with History and a humanizing touch to every charater and perspective of the brutal realities!Jude Law brilliant in director’s depiction of Putin, while Paul Dano aced as the protagonist.

I have wanted to go to TIFF for years! It exceeded my expectations. Loved it!!
Superb line-up. Well organized. Great group of volunteers. Thank you!!!
This was my first TIFF experience and it was cool that it was the 50th anniversary. We went to Frankenstein on Tuesday September 9th @ Princess Wales. The staff were very professional, informative and kind. The film was incredible and afterwards we got a Q&A with director Guillermo del Toro and his creative team. Overall it was a truly great experience and I will be coming back every year until TIFF 100.
I’m a TIFF fan for years. This is first time using ticketmaster as their official ticket vender. The system encourage resale on premium. I was only able to buy two films in resale price two days ahead of screening. The post sale is generally fine in reminder and mobile delivery. But I receive a reminder email on Sep 12 indicating in an upcoming event in four days on Sept 14, and event is my real one on Sep 11 “ A pale view of hills” I just finished! TIFF, please find a better one!
A wonderful storey about brotherhood, passion and life’s let downs. Uplifting and feel good nonetheless. Vaughan’s belted out showstoppers and artful musical arrangements make it a rare treat.
Always enjoy the festival having attended for over 20 years without missing. There is a buzz about the festival. It is an opportunity to view movies which are, generally, of a higher quality than the majority of those shown at local movie houses The system of selecting. Ovies has greatly improved. Allocating specific seats is a big plus.
Obviously a HUGE success again. Great way to celebrate the 50th. Did find it brutally hard to get tickets (had 12 movies I was prepared to purchase but only got 6). As a member I thought I’d be getting a better chance to purchase but appears not. Talked to a higher status member and they fared no better so an upgrade doesn’t appear to solve problem. So question is, would it possible to purchase tickets to stream perhaps after galas and the ceremonial events? Like we all reverted to durring Covid. Might be a way to improve cash flow for you and still maintain the spectacle of tiff.
Great vibe in the city. Extensive selection of films and genres.Love that there are reserved seats.Purchasing tickets online is a nightmare and every year they change it and it never gets better. The policy that at 15 minutes before screening you will release seat to rush line is unconscionable .The tickets are expensive difficult to order and I pay for the seat it belongs to me for the duration of the film. As a Contributing member and find it offensive .
Would be better if it was less. Crowded or move it to another theater which is less crowded and more organized but in general very good experience
All the great movies I saw and getting to watch the Q&A sessions after the movies gives you some great inside information on the aspects and perspectives of making the films.
I've attended the premiere of Nuremberg. Really powerful movie. The organization of the festival was also at the highest level.
It was awesome to watch the movie Rose of Nevada premium ver. and even go to the red carpet to get close to the talents. The only thing is that you need to arrive several hours early to get a good spot. I feel very lucky to have gotten Fanzone tickets. Toronto is such a vibrant metropolitan city, and I really enjoyed the film festival. I look forward to watching more fantastic movies next year! Thanks to all the volunteers and organizers.
By chance, I was in Toronto in September 2005 for TIFF and had a chance to go see a few films. I enjoyed it and planned to return sometime. That return was this year, and after seeing great films including but not limited to I Swear, Nuremburg, Dead Man's Wire and BabyStar, I am fully hooked and plan to be back. Although I am not a star chaser, I really enjoyed the thoughful Q&A after most films and loved listening to Russell Crowe, Leo Woodall, Rami Malek, Dustin Hoffman and soon-to-be mega stars explain their films. In addition, Toronto is a great location to have some great eats and drinks to debrief films.
Watching the film Sholay at TIFF was an absolutely amazing experience. I was truly impressed by how well the event was presented, organized and managed by everyone at TIFF. The atmosphere, the audience and memories shared by everyone who attended have left an incredible impression on me. I am so grateful that I was able to participate and share these moments with my daughter. It was my husband’s favourite movie and I remembered all those precious moments we had shared together.
It was a great concert film The crowd loved the screening and Bazz was awesome with how he explained the film and all the work that went into it. Princess of Wales Theater was a great place to view the screening. My advice would be to take the go train to save time and parking .
We had an unforgettable first time experience at TIFF attending the premiere of Gandhi. Got a great chance to get close and hear from the production crew and artists. What a fantastic production. Please watch Gandhi when it is released.
We were at a live interview with Mariska Hargitay. It strayed right on time . It was general admission and thought we might end up sitting at the back but we were sat on the front row. We were really impressed with Miss Hargitay . She is well spoken and came across extremely intelligent . The interviewer knew the Documentaries involved and was good at drawing out information.
