  • Need more venues

by Sophie on 2025-09-09Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 13 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I love TIFF and see several films each year. They no longer have showings at the Elgin/Winter garden theatre and that's a shame. The Scotabank Theatre is way too packed because they are showing far to many films. Bring back Elgin and Ryerson locations

  • Magnificent & Glamorous Experience - As always!

by Yashas Umesh Chandra on 2025-09-09Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I had an amazing time at the Gala that I attended. TIFF always does a phenomenal job, year after year, in turning King street - which is primarily a corporate area - into a glamorous, glitzy and lively film festival! I have been attending TIFF for close to 2 decades and they have done an amazing job every year! I was pleasantly surprised that TIFF decided to show “Sholay” of all movies! It just proves to me that the people at TIFF know their stuff! India is home to the world’s largest film industry (by far!) and I am glad to see that TIFF has recognized this particular region of the world. Overall, a magnificent experience!

  • Unique Opportunity - Fantastic!

by Heather Toronto on 2025-09-09Royal Alexandra Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

TIFF is something I look forward to all year and is such a thrill to attend. What a great chance to see something well in advance of its regular release date or maybe something you might not easily otherwise find. Always exciting when you look around the theatre and see some of your favourite actors sitting right behind you.

  • Awesome experience

by Lynn on 2025-09-09Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was my first time attending TIFF. It was very organized, lovely theater and was a great experience, and of course the movie was excellent EPiC!!!

  • Better Walking Pathways!

by BK on 2025-09-08Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Please find a better way to create clear and effective pathways to walk, when passing in front of theatres. The “fan zone” corals are wonderful, but the congestion makes it impossible to get to each venue.

  • I absolutely love it

by Lernie on 2025-09-07Royal Alexandra Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely love TiFF it is the best 10 days of the year in Toronto. I love that there are reserved seats with no more scrambling once you get into the theater. My only complaint is that even as a contributing member every single year the procedure changes to buy tickets and it is always difficult to make your ticket purchases on line. The system overload means purchasing does not often work as expected and time runs out. It is exasperating and needs to be rectified.

  • Great movies - would like less ceremony and overhead

by hihi on 2025-09-07Royal Alexandra Theatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Way too much ceremony and overhead. Went to see a movie - lined up for a half hour to get in, through bag-check, etc. Then the movie started with a bunch of speeches from someone from the government about the importance of the arts etc, which I think was of no interest to 90%+ of the audience. Then we watched a few more minutes of embarassingly bad ads about TIFF's 50th anniversary.... Did not feel like my time was treated as valuable

  • A wonderful wakeup

by SueH on 2024-10-02Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 10 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I caught an early morning showing of 'The Penguin Lessons'. The energy of the volunteers, so early on a Sunday morning, put me in a great frame of mind. The lineups were well-organized and I absolutely loved the movie. The audience was very in to it, too. I was especially touched, though, by the willingness of complete strangers to trade seats in the theatre with other patrons who needed more leg room. It was so nice to see such cooperation.

  • Great stars/red carpets. Pls Bring back paper programs!

by Chris on 2024-09-23Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 2 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I was only able to catch three movies this year, but enjoyed all three. I noticed there were lots of music biopics, which I quite enjoyed. Always love the pedestrian part of King Street on the first weekend, wandering around to see who is coming and going on the red carpets and people watching. My main complaint this year is access to information on the schedule and movies. I find it so much easier to be able to look at a calendar on paper to scan what's on which days, what time. Also to see listings of movies by categories, countries and genre. I found it very frustrating only being able to see a list of movies on my small phone screen when trying to decide what to see when and where. Please bring back a basic paper calendar and listing! I don't want to carry around a large book and pay a lot of money for one one. I love the last minute standby options too. Looking forward to next year, my 25th attending!

  • Good festival, short-sighted cash system.

by Lex on 2024-09-22Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It’s always a pleasure to be able to take part in TIFF, but the fact everything has become cashless makes it less accessible, and leans into the “white privilege/elitist” accusation I kept hearing thrown around about the festival this year. There are people who still receive at least part of their income in cash - I happen to be one of those people - a lot of us also work schedules that are all over the place, making it difficult to get to the bank in time or, frankly, making it difficult to go out at all. I wanted to buy a bottle of water for the movie because I had just come from work and didn’t have time to eat or drink and was thirsty, but - because I was wearing one of those ridiculously tiny purses that are the only things presentational enough for a gala event such as I was attending and because I had just thrown some cash in thinking that would be fine, I had to drink from the tap in the bathroom because actual money wasn’t welcome at the festival - not an amazing experience.

  • All around great experience!

by jujubeanca on 2024-09-19Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 14 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I really appreciated that we were able to purchase our seats via Ticketmaster. Also loved all the venues where TiFF films were screened.

  • Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara

by Brian on 2024-09-19Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 4 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Saw the movie. Very good but chilling and concerning. Gives you an idea of what those in the public eye go and have gone through. For those who are unfamiliar about this, Tegan Quin had her account hacked and the hacker then pretended to be her to their fans. The movie gives one some perspective not only from Tegan but also the fans. Highly recommend watching.

  • A fantastic time

A ton of cool movies and a great community! It was my first year and it definitely will not be my last.

  • Great Experience

by JB on 2024-09-18Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

They were able to move the lines along pretty quickly for us to go to the theatre and see out film. We also had comfortable seats for us to view the film.

  • Excellent event as usual.

by JulesVerne on 2024-09-18Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 6 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Chose to watch 10 movies with my spouse this year. The buying process, yet again, was changed from the previous year. Once I got past that, this year, all tickets were for a reserved and numbered seat. That meant you did NOT need to line-up like in previous years, to get a good seat. All myt seats were not perfect, but they were reserved! Its up to you to pick good movies from the TIFF list and descriptions, and that is the fun of going to the festival. Discovering a new director, or seeing the movies from a new country.

  • Best film festival

by Lisa on 2024-09-18Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 1 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Met Rebel Wilson. Most helpful staff and volunteers ever! So we'll organized. So easy to get to everything. One of the best experiences of my life.

  • Long lineups

by Me on 2024-09-18Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Long lineups were brutal. If you parked in underground parking they made you walk around the building on opposite side of exit, when there was an elevator to go down to parking right at exit. Nobody to control exit after a film or before trying to get into or out ofparking(princess of whales). Lady at entrance screamed in your ears to keep our bags open for security check. It was the one annoying lady🤦🏻‍♀️

  • Free screenings for the public

    by Nick S on 2024-09-18TIFF Lightbox Cinema 3 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Attended 2 free TIFF screenings, one from the TTC sponsor and one from the final day people's choice screening. They were both properly organized and designed so that anyone could experience it. All volunteers were helpful in answering questions about tickets.
