  • Andrea Bocelli Because I Beleive

by Jean on 2024-09-16Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 2 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent Documentary. I was moved to tears throughout the whole film. Andrea's voice like the three tenors is incredible. His story is inspirational.

  • A great experience this year.

TIFF is great. Buying tickets in the past was always bumpy and nearly impossible. I’m a TIFF member and this year access to tickets was phenomenal by comparison. There were some issues with linking to the new auth login, so some free tickets couldn’t be accessed. However I got to see the films I wanted to. Excellent experience overall.

  • Movies lack substance

by Tina on 2024-09-16Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Princess of wales is a lovely venue, movie “the piano lesson “ dragged on and was boring most of the time, despite positive reviews. Good acting but I was bored for most of the time and fell asleep. Disappointed this year!

  • TIFF IS GETTING BETTER

by ABarryJ on 2024-09-16TIFF Lightbox Cinema 2 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Good selection of films in a fairly average year. In a market dominated by the U.S. it is best to focus on outstanding films from other countries and TIFF does that. Ask Ticketmaster to figure out a way people can declare their tickets available ahead of time if they can’t attend…a couple of tense moments when Rush attendees and ticket holders showed up at same time

  • Taking Care Business and my first experience at TIFF!

by Randy Bachman's Biggest Fan! on 2024-09-15Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

On Thursday I went to TIFF (The International Film Festival) For The first time.Ever.And let me tell you it was one of the best experiences of an event I ever been to.And I have gone to a lot of concerts, sporting events etc.First and foremost I want to acknowledge the staff and Volunteers at TIFF.Were the most accommodating and very nice people to have the pleasure of having at any event.There.So I like to give a huge thank you off my and my parents behalf (Whom took me).To the Staff and volunteers.Thank you again.A lot of venues staff and etc.Could take a page out of their book. Can't say anything more nice things about them. From the seats to any questions about that event that night. The showing that I saw was a documentary on a huge Canadian and world wide music legend Randy Bachman. On his Documentary called Takin' Care Of Business.Chronicles the story about how someone in Western British Columbia,Canada. An Internet Sleuth help finds Mr.Bachman's guitar which was in Japan. After almost 5 decades. The documentary also chronicles Randy's journey through Co-Vid 19 and his health battles even his faith and etc.I've thought a knew a lot about this man.But I've learned a lot and it was very eye opening. It ends with him reunited with the guitar and writing a new song on it.Now from Mr.Randall Charles Bachman.Who's now not only after 2 years a cancer survivor. But now is writing a new book.At 81 almost. The man is not done yet.You Ain't seen Nothing Yet.A new Grandchild on the way.Abums, tours etc.He has more to tell.Randy I and world wants to say a big thank you of what you have given the world with your talent. Can't wait for the Bachman & Bachman with his son Tal.The BTO stuff,The Guess Who Reunion. With Burton.Jazz Thing 3.And just seeing you live more and more.Be well.Keep The Rock Rolling.Noah Hochman!

As always, the volunteers were amazing and everything flowed well and pleasantly. Except should have anticipated Palestinian protesters and shown zero tolerance for disrupting, not offered any opportunity/reward for speaking to the audience. Stressful and traumatizing. I saw my last film this morning , and no chance to vote for Peoples Choice before they were decided. Why aren’t you waiting until the end of the festival?

  • Cool

by Andre on 2024-09-15Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 1 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Went to KPops and Millers in Marriage Really enjoyed experience as we got to see directors at film discussing their work Would recommend going to TIFF next year as you get interaction with the stars

  • What a treasure

by Fan of TIFF on 2024-09-15Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 2 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

TIFF is such a treasured gift to the city & all who participate. My favourite part is selecting random premieres just to hear from directors, producers, actors & writers, their stories about the screening. Always come away with a different connection to that film, half the fun is meeting people & seeing films from around the world, voices we need to elevate-awesome !!

  • Great!

    by Miss M on 2024-09-15Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 14 - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

What a wonderful line-up of amazing movies, facilitated by great team of volunteers. My only negative is the website which I found glitchy and dreadfully annoying.

  • Awesome experience

by Mygirlfriendisartdirector on 2024-09-15TIFF Lightbox Cinema 4 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

My girlfriend is the production designer of the movie “Don’t cry, butterfly” so I went to see to support her. I loved the whole experience. I was greeted when I first entered the building - The Lightbox. One of the volunteer approached me when she saw me was confusing of not knowing where to go next. She asked me which movie I’m seeing. She pointed out to me the location after I told her and showed me how I can get there. My friends and I waited outside the cinema for the director of the movie. Her crew and her showed up and brought us inside. I did purchase my own ticket via Ticketmaster. It was an easy procedure. The seat was comfortable and the movie was excellent. There was a Q&A at the end that helps us clarifying some of the details from the movie. We really enjoyed the whole experience.

  • Movie at Roy Thompson Hall

by Cv on 2024-09-14Roy Thomson Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Movie and venue were great however popcorn was not good. I think it would be great if they projected the red carpet for the movie on the screen live as we have to be in the seats early.

  • Outstanding experience!

by Cindy G on 2024-09-14Royal Alexandra Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I went to two TIFF films this year and thoroughly enjoyed both. I also loved the kinetic energy of being at TIFF, which was fun and exhilirating!

  • Exciting

by Fred on 2024-09-14TIFF Lightbox Cinema 1 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great choice of movies to see. Thoroughly enjoy foreign movies and seems like I’m not the only one! The Indian movie “All We Imagine as Light” is sad, beautifully captured, and highly recommended.

  • TIFF is back!

by DL on 2024-09-13Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Always amazing but this year even exceeded that! Just wish the prices were a little lower so I could afford to view a few more. Maybe a senior rate? But I will always support the arts regardless. Love TIFF

  • Triumph (Bulgarian-Greek production) at TIFF

by Galya on 2024-09-13Scotiabank Theatre Cinema 14 - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The movie was quite slow and the story not truly captivating but the acting was amazing! Maria Bakalova and Julian Vergov were fantastic! The Scotiabank theatre was good and the staff were very friendly.

  • Best Film Festival In Years!

by DB on 2024-09-13Visa Screening Room at Princess of Wales Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw four films at this year’s festival, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was lovely to see how really emotional and invested all the actors and filmmakers were in their work, and I witnessed a few teary moments. After surviving a pandemic followed by actors ’ and writers’ strikes, the film community is back with a renewed energy. The creative joy was palpable!
