Toronto Raptors History

The Toronto Raptors were founded in 1995 as part of the NBA's expansion into Canada. The Raptors have been the only NBA team based in Canada since the 2001–02 season. After acquiring eight-time All-Star Vince Carter in 1998, the Raptors set league-wide attendance records and made the playoffs from 2000 to 2002. Led by Carter, the Raptors earned their first playoff series win in 2001 and advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Raptors didn't return to the playoffs until the 2006–07 season, when they won the Atlantic Division title. After Masai Ujiri joined as the team's General Manager in 2013, the Raptors became a consistent playoff team, winning five division titles and having their most successful season in 2018. The following year, during the 2019 playoffs, the Raptors earned their first Eastern Conference title and went on to win their first NBA championship, defeating the Warriors in 6 games.

  • “All inclusive food” but there was nothing left

by Justin on 2022-05-01Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

I sat in the g box and food was supposed to be inclusive but there was nothing but a few vegetables left. The game started at 7 and I got there 5 minutes past.

  • Let's Go Raptors!!!

by HB on 2022-04-27Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It's always going to be the best time ever to watch the Raptors play (and win), and in a play-off game not less. Prices could be more wallet-friendly no doubt, but whatever I guess.

  • What an experience

by Manu on 2022-04-26Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing venue and hospitality my first nba game and was a very special experience

  • good game poor service

by Rattzz on 2022-04-25Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

In the scotiabank arena MLSE has a company called Premium Hospitality that sells food and drinks then deliver it to your seats. We ordered drinks prior to the start of the game and by 6:24 left in the first quarter we still haven't received our beer. We re-ordered and again didn't receive our drinks. Finally i cancelled them and got them from the concession stand. It threw off my entire game experience when i spent a lot of money on these playoff tickets.

  • Raptors 76ers Game 4.

by WH on 2022-04-23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best times of my life. The Atmosphere was amazing, the game was the entertaining and the Raptors won. I’m a huge Raptors fan and definitely thinking about going to Game 6 if there is one.

  • Sad and disappointing

by Awan on 2022-04-23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

The seat I paid for first of all the hand rest and back rest was broken. You could see tape was used to put it back in place and someone had removed parts of the tape making it a terrible experience of sitting all game. The game itself was amazing but very sad to see how my seat was and how tough it was on me to sit and not disrupt those around me. I couldn’t even get a drink to put on the drink rest because that was broken for me aswell. I had to sit on the edge of the seat all game or else the chair would have broken more from the back. Very sad

  • Awesome

As usual, it was amazing. Fast and easy to purchase tickets, get in and enjoy. Recommended experience for everyone.

  • Overpriced but exciting

by RobbyC on 2022-04-23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Great game, sad outcome. Raptors need to control scalpers (see you Ticket Master). Secondary market is the BLACK MARKET. Scalping was illegal years ago but has now sadly become mainstream.

  • Didn’t really like the location of the seats

    by M on 2022-04-23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

The standing seats are super high up wasn’t the best view couldn’t tell who had the ball wouldn’t buy again…paid pretty much for the vibe of the playoffs….wasn’t exciting really

  • PLAYOFFS

    by R.A.B on 2022-04-23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

When you sit at home and hear Toronto has the best fans in the NBA you don’t really believe it until you’re in the room. I had the time of my life. It was our first playoff game at home and even though we lost the energy was unbeatable. Definitely looking forward to more games.

  • Not Impressed

by BJ on 2022-04-23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Sitting extremely tight, took forever to get food, line was sooo slow and the nearby fans were full if 4 letter words!

  • Love the Raptors

    by J. F. on 2022-04-12Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Flew in from out of town to watch the game. The seats that we had were better than what we thought. The fans are exciting and the place was rocking. The Raptors still won despite being a little lack luster. Loved being there regardless.

  • Amazing Venue

by Kalsyd on 2022-04-11Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This venue is great and the game was amazing. We were in the 300 section but center court and had great visibility. The Raptors and their entertainment team are always entertaining you every second of the game so it’s great for kids as well. The venue is also very accessible with a choice of elevators, stairs or escalators which is great for everyone.

  • What an experience

by Mario on 2022-04-11Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Brought my family to see a Raptors Game. What an experience it is to see it live compared on Tv it’s not the same. From the time your out side the arena till the time you leave it’s an amazing experience to live it. Will drive back from Montreal again next year too experience it again.

  • Raptors Game

by Charley on 2022-04-11Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Took my mom to the game as a surprise as she is a hugeRaptor fan. She absolutely loved her seats, and service was amazing. A special thank you to Teresa, who escorted my Mom to and from parking to her seat. Pushing a wheelchair through the crowds is not an easy task, but she was so calm, and extremely gracious. Everyone was so friendly, from security, to the ones helping us to our seats. My Mom will remember this game. Thank you Scotiabank Arena for making this day memorable for my Mom.

  • Box seats are bomb

by JTGosse on 2022-04-11Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Really when you can snag these bad boys, secure yourself box seats to watch the game. Great value includes food and non-alcoholic drinks, private cash bar. Decent views of the game — directly facing the big screen in case you don’t want to look too far down.
