Toronto Raptors History

The Toronto Raptors were founded in 1995 as part of the NBA's expansion into Canada. The Raptors have been the only NBA team based in Canada since the 2001–02 season. After acquiring eight-time All-Star Vince Carter in 1998, the Raptors set league-wide attendance records and made the playoffs from 2000 to 2002. Led by Carter, the Raptors earned their first playoff series win in 2001 and advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Raptors didn't return to the playoffs until the 2006–07 season, when they won the Atlantic Division title. After Masai Ujiri joined as the team's General Manager in 2013, the Raptors became a consistent playoff team, winning five division titles and having their most successful season in 2018. The following year, during the 2019 playoffs, the Raptors earned their first Eastern Conference title and went on to win their first NBA championship, defeating the Warriors in 6 games.

It wasn't our first time to watch a Raptors game but the experience is always exciting and fun.

  • The Good, The Bad, The Ugly #5

by The Sports Guy on 2024-02-15Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

THE GOOD: Went to see the NBA 1st overall draft pick Wembanyama and he did not disappoint. He dominated from the opening whistle of the game. FACILITY: Clean SEATS: The section was clean. I found reasonable priced tickets for the section I was sitting in. FOOD: tried the guacamole burger was good but the patty was thin like I was eating a large slider burger. STAFF: All friendly and polite. THE BAD: The Raptors are not a very good team anymore. The lost. THE UGLY: Blowout game Spurs had a 30point lead at one point in the game.

  • Disappointing

by Micka on 2024-02-15Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

During 2nd quarter people were walking up and down the stairs all the time. During that time, I couldn't even see one half of the court. I couldn't watch the game properly.

  • MLSE for elite only!!

  • Good experience

by Ali on 2024-02-12Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was good I just wish the beer was cheaper and cash was accepted and that they bring food to the sears. Besides that I enjoy the game.

  • Exceptionnal

by Yvan on 2024-01-29Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Hey, it was my very first NBA game, I enjoyed every moment, I travel 500 miles to see my Clippers play. The public of Toronto is very nice and the employees at the building were kind. For me, people of the Ontario province are far better than Quebec people.

  • Wheelchair Food Delivery Needed

    by S. S. on 2024-01-28Rating: 4 out of 5

We love our Raptor games. My sister now has accessibility issues and so we need the wheelchair seats now. I was disappointed that Scotia Bank only offers to your seat food delivery for the 100 section. They really need to offer it to the wheelchair seats too. It only makes sense.

  • Patrons vape with children around at Scotiabank Arena

by Disappointed on 2024-01-26Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

Scotiabank Arena needs to determine how to stop attendees from vaping. Metal detectors are insufficient as they use plastic vapes. I asked them to stop. They continued and I did not want to have some kind of conflict with them by calling staff over. Note that there were multiple people from different groups vaping in front and behind my kids and I.

  • Night out with my son

by Andy on 2024-01-05Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

We always enjoy our time out at a raptors game. Non stop action, no down time and good music.

  • All good

by Elena on 2023-12-23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

All very well, for disability peace very comfortable but beer is very expensive

  • Good performance but seats too tight

by Nmontes on 2023-12-19Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

For the price of the ticket we were expecting a wider seat, at least with more room for the legs. The game was very entertaining and enjoyable, but the lack of space to sit comfortably was a big issue.

  • Nice arena

  • Love it!

by Farrell on 2023-11-22Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Raptors games are so fun, interactive and are great for the whole family. It's expensive but really enjoy going a couple times a year.

  • Great time!!

by RapsGirls on 2023-11-22Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I brought my 10 year old for her first game and she had a BLAST! We were a little disappointed that there weren't any give-aways in our section (or in any of the upper bowl seats), as she was by far the loudest person in our area. It would be super cool if there were options for seat upgrades for first-timers.

  • Overpriced, not worth it!

by Jeff on 2023-11-20Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

The raptors consider certain games to be premium and charge double the price of a regular ticket. NBA Superstars sit out Toronto games far too often so you are basically paying extra to see bench players. Food and beverages are way to expensive borderline price gauging. Was very disappointed for the price I had to pay compared to the experience I had. This will probably be the last game I attend unless games become more affordable and less corporate.

  • Fun but pricy!

by Rodog on 2023-11-09Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

We had so much fun! We had great seat. The vibe was amazing. My first live sports event and I don’t every watch sports and it made me a fan! I would have given it a 5* but the price’s of everything from the ticket to the parking to the food and drinks and merch. This should an event that people other than the privileged can enjoy. It’s a shame it’s only reserved for those with money.

  • Seamless event

by Gareth on 2023-11-04Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Had a seamless experience from getting the tickets to entry and enjoyed the in game experience. Even better the raptors won.

  • The good the bad the ugly - part 2

by The Sports Guy on 2023-11-04Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The Good- greeted with a friendly smile season ticket holder. Clean area and friendly staff. Good side view seats. The Bad- Upper Deck 300 level tickets were more expensive than lower level seats at last sporting event I attended. The Ugly- a blowout game, a team did not show up to compete several wide open shots that missed and several uncontested shots that also missed the mark. They forgot they were all-star talented players.
