About

Troy Hawke is an erudite home-schooled 1930s throwback... the Errol Flynn of the high street. Educated, sophisticated, but utterly clueless. He tackles modern issues head on in his uniquely untimely manner.

The latest show from Troy, Troy Hawke: Sigmund Troy'd, won Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2022 and was one of the winners of Soho Playhouse International Fringe Encore Series in 2022.

He has twice been nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh Show award and was listed as GQ's Top Ten Comedy Shows at the festival.

'Undeniably funny' - Chortle

We weren’t really sure what to expect. I’m an IG Follwer, and thought “Why not??” It was a FABULOUS show. Witty, insightful, surprising… never coarse… and we all roared in delight. Highly recommend 😊

  • Late start

The venue had issues with a Sound Engineer at 6pm, we stood outside for over a hour where we were told that the Sound Engineer was in traffic, then they were looking for another engineer from another venue. Our tickets were scanned outside, hands stamped then when we got into the theatre our tickets were scanned again. The way the delay was communicated to the crowd was poorly done, the sound engineer is supposed to be at the venue hours ahead of the show. I think that we were lied to as attendees The show was fantastic, I did enjoy it and I would recommend Troy Hawke for anyone to see. He is authentic and engaging. The opening comic was not great, but I am sure he will get better when he hones his set

I didnt know what to expect from Troy Hawke,i know his bits on the street but in a show? Well,it was great!! using the screen and being extremely funny with stories instead of jokes was quite refreshing...Would go see him again and next time you should as well. Very creative and funny.

Troy delivered another great set. So funny and off the wall in the right amounts struck comedic gold. Can’t wait for him to come back to Toronto!

  • Amazing show but..

by Blue Pally on 2024-05-13The Royal Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Troy was fantastic. Hilarious and you should definitely go and see this magical human any time you can. It was so much fun and he allowed people to come say hi afterwards. I will absolutely go again next time he's in town. But that being said there was some major miscommunication between his team and the theatre; in the social media event and on the ticket it said the show started at 6pm. So my friend and I made sure, travelling an hour (almost 2 for her) on the train that we got in Toronto at 5pm. Cutting our work days short etc. Only to find out that the doors opened at 6pm and we were told the show started at 7pm. At first that was fine, we went for dinner...but then upon entering the theater at 6:45pm we were still left waiting for the show to start at 7:30pm. So frustrating in that regard. His opening act was really awful too and did not fit what Troy is all about. Making a lot of jokes about 'dementia' that weren't funny as well as making the 'joke' of people saying 'he was gay when he's not' (really outdated humour). I look forward to him coming back this way though, with a much better opening act!

  • The Knight of Hilarious Kindness

by DDTO on 2024-05-10The Royal Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Yes, comedians, it IS possible to make people laugh without being gross or punching down. Troy Hawke, an absolute gentleman, had the audience doubled over, shrieking and tearing up over his gentle razzing, chivalric compliments and cosmic Scrabbleology. Troy Hawke is a literally brilliant comedic figure.

  • I didn't want it to end

Not sure how a number dominant PowerPoint presentation was the best comedy show I've ever attended but it was. It was almost too good! I'll be seeing Troy every time he's in my city!
