About

Troy Hawke is an erudite home-schooled 1930s throwback... the Errol Flynn of the high street. Educated, sophisticated, but utterly clueless. He tackles modern issues head on in his uniquely untimely manner.

The latest show from Troy, Troy Hawke: Sigmund Troy'd, won Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2022 and was one of the winners of Soho Playhouse International Fringe Encore Series in 2022.

He has twice been nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh Show award and was listed as GQ's Top Ten Comedy Shows at the festival.

'Undeniably funny' - Chortle

'Mad comic genius' - The Scotsman

'Near perfect character comedy' - The New Current

  • Amazing show but..

Troy was fantastic. Hilarious and you should definitely go and see this magical human any time you can. It was so much fun and he allowed people to come say hi afterwards. I will absolutely go again next time he's in town. But that being said there was some major miscommunication between his team and the theatre; in the social media event and on the ticket it said the show started at 6pm. So my friend and I made sure, travelling an hour (almost 2 for her) on the train that we got in Toronto at 5pm. Cutting our work days short etc. Only to find out that the doors opened at 6pm and we were told the show started at 7pm. At first that was fine, we went for dinner...but then upon entering the theater at 6:45pm we were still left waiting for the show to start at 7:30pm. So frustrating in that regard. His opening act was really awful too and did not fit what Troy is all about. Making a lot of jokes about 'dementia' that weren't funny as well as making the 'joke' of people saying 'he was gay when he's not' (really outdated humour). I look forward to him coming back this way though, with a much better opening act!

Yes, comedians, it IS possible to make people laugh without being gross or punching down. Troy Hawke, an absolute gentleman, had the audience doubled over, shrieking and tearing up over his gentle razzing, chivalric compliments and cosmic Scrabbleology. Troy Hawke is a literally brilliant comedic figure.

Not sure how a number dominant PowerPoint presentation was the best comedy show I've ever attended but it was. It was almost too good! I'll be seeing Troy every time he's in my city!

I have not laughed so much. Troy/Milo is pure comedy magic. On the rating scales of Robin Williams! A star is born, will definately see him again!!!!

  • I wholesome and HILARIOUS show

by Alyssa on 2024-05-10The Royal Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I wholesome (even with the Canadian swearing) and hilarious comedy show. Laughed and smiled the whole time. Lots of quick wit as he interacted with a lot of the audience. A good message at the end as well, spread kindness and compliments !
