Amazing show but..
by Blue Pally on 2024-05-13The Royal Theatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5Troy was fantastic. Hilarious and you should definitely go and see this magical human any time you can. It was so much fun and he allowed people to come say hi afterwards. I will absolutely go again next time he's in town. But that being said there was some major miscommunication between his team and the theatre; in the social media event and on the ticket it said the show started at 6pm. So my friend and I made sure, travelling an hour (almost 2 for her) on the train that we got in Toronto at 5pm. Cutting our work days short etc. Only to find out that the doors opened at 6pm and we were told the show started at 7pm. At first that was fine, we went for dinner...but then upon entering the theater at 6:45pm we were still left waiting for the show to start at 7:30pm. So frustrating in that regard. His opening act was really awful too and did not fit what Troy is all about. Making a lot of jokes about 'dementia' that weren't funny as well as making the 'joke' of people saying 'he was gay when he's not' (really outdated humour). I look forward to him coming back this way though, with a much better opening act!
