About

Tyler Childers is carving his own path in country music. Following the success of his 2017 breakout album Purgatory, the Kentucky-born singer-songwriter has earned 11 career Grammy nominations across folk, Americana, and country categories. Childers' 2025 release, Snipe Hunter, marked his seventh studio album; across the record, he weaves Appalachian storytelling with elements of rock and gospel. Childers remains connected to his Appalachian roots through his Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund, which he established in 2020 with his wife, singer-songwriter Senora May, to bring awareness and financial support to vulnerable communities.

  • Weird venue for a great show!

by Tron on 2019-12-11REBEL - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The concert itself was really great, he sounded perfect, almost exactly as the albums. Opening band was also pretty good! The venue itself didn’t really fit the vibe of the music and the bartenders were slow, too busy showing off their bodies to ensure everyone was served in a timely manner. Service got better as the night went on though. Overall a good time!

  • Great concert

The smaller venue was great for sound and atmosphere.

  • Worst venue ever

by Darnuts on 2019-12-11REBEL - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

Tyler and his band are absolutely amazing, but the Rebel nightclub is awful. The sound near the back was distorted, you can't see anything from the back and the TVs that provided a view of the stage are the cheapest quality pieces of crap every. The bartender tried to charge me $36 for one beer, and it was so overcrowded near the front that I almost smothered from being squished. Toronto is in desperate need of a quality medium-sized concert venue. A disco is no place for a country concert.

  • Amazing!

The show was just perfect. You could have asked for much more as far as sounds and visuals.

  • Good show with some volume issues and yahoos

by RM1234 on 2018-10-22The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The show was pretty solid, but the volume level was strangely low. I had to make my way to right in front of the stage before I was sort of satisfied. Whitehouse Road should have been a rockin' opener, but with the sound muted, it was underwhelming. Acoustic Tyler with fiddle accompaniment or solo was the highlight for me, and the Miami Kid on bass was fantastic throughout. There were a few too many yahoos scattered throughout the crowd for my liking, but what can you do? It's a country show.

Tyler put on a sensational show in Toronto. The acoustics were a little off, but loud crowd may have been a factor.
