UBIQUITOUS SYNERGY SEEKER IN CONCERT:
Since the early '00s, Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker has been exploring the musical bonds between art and science, breaking out of the rock mold with their hard-hitting synths and grungy vocals. Hailing from Toronto, USS pump up the crowd with their DJ-meets-acoustic jams, feeding off of each other's energy as they lead audiences in sing-alongs and dance parties. Whether they're headbanging to hits like "This Is The Best" or treating fans to pyrotechnics and intense light shows, the mohawk-clad duo will have audiences moving all night long on their upcoming tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker members Ashley Buccholz and Jason "Human Kebab" Parsons became friends while working together at a golf course, bonding over their mutual love for music and beginning to play local gigs under the moniker in 2004. The duo parted ways four years later but reunited when they got word that their track "Hollowpoint Sniper Hyperbole" was in heavy rotation on local Toronto radio. They returned to the studio, and the result was their debut album Questamation, a massive success boasting hit singles "Laces Out" and "Anti-Venom." USS took their latest record in a new direction -- 2014's Advanced Basics is the produfct of a completely fan-funded project titled #Letsgetweirdtogether, and they plan to do just that on their upcoming tour.
Great as always boys! A must see for those who haven't.
Had an amazing time! Elwin’s, one of the opening acts were SO good! USS, I would have been happy if they sang every song they have put out in the universe , but enjoyed the ones they did perform!!! Great energy! Great sound!
The song selection, the lights, the energy were all top notch. Ash & Jay both are showmen but Jay can pump up a corpse with his infectious energy. I would go see these guys as often as I can. They also chose the perfect opening acts. The Elwins were awesome and Shotty Horrah was very interesting.
There is no bad seat in the Algonquin Commons Theatre. USS had great energy on the stage loved every second
We didn't really know much about USS, I had only heard Ying Yang on the radio but thought we would give it a try. What a fun night. Was not too sure about Shotty Horroh as the supporting act but he only played a few songs, then came the Elwins. We had seen them at the Dragon Boat Festival and loved them and they were equally as good this night. USS were fantastic, loved all their songs and the whole evening had a great energy. Would definitely recommend or go to see them again.
This is the second USS concert I have been to and they did not disappoint. So much energy, great chemistry and an amazing rapport with the crowd. Ash and Jay simply know how to put on a show. They played all their good songs, previewed some new ones. This was the first show of the tour, so if you get a chance to see them, GO!!!
Always a great show no matter where you see them. This time happened to be the Danforth Music Hall, but no matter where you have the opportunity to see them....DO IT!!!!
USS always puts on a great show. Lot's of energy and great music. Go see these guys!
Simply the BEST live show you will ever see. Nobody draws a cooler crowd of party animals. They leave it all on the stage and leave everyone happy and exhausted. NEVER miss a chance to see USS live
USS rules!! The Human Kebab sure knows how to put on a show. They played all the favourites and had a really cool band open. Always go see these guys if you have the chance
More than A+ show!!! For a free show, they still put EVERYTHING into it and got the crowd pumped throughout the entire show and wanting more!! Plus a meet and greet (if you stayed after the show) at the end made it more than a perfect night. A MUST SEE!!! Now a top favorite band that I will always be up to date on!!! USS IS AMAZING!
If you haven't seen USS live yet, you need to make a change in your life! These guys consistently put on mad, crowd-pleasing shows and this one was no different. Last night of their cross Canada tour with Michou and they smashed it. Pulled out all the stops - ladder from which Ash jammed near the top while Human held the mic on his shoulders. Human later dove into the crowd from said ladder. I'm pretty sure they played a longer set than usual giving them plenty of time to thank the fans profusely. Life-changing music. Music isn't even the right word... it's so much more than just music. Love, love, love everyday to USS!
Yet again they pulled out all stops and impressed me with their crazy antics and high energy!! You could feel the room pulsing with the energy that they created. Whether it was Human crowd surfing with this turntable guitar, or Ash going all out on the vocals and guitar - there was certainly not a dull moment. Human jumping off the ladder into the crowd was certainly something to remember! And the hat signing moment was hilarious (apparently stationary robbery didn't quiet work out and Human was a hipocrite)!!! A lot of good laughs in between songs throughout the night!!! Smeagal, OJ, Grandma... too funny!!! And of course their staple blender was involved in the act as well!!! I loved it so much that I drove out to scenefest in St Catherines on Sunday to catch them again. Love the energy of this band - and of course the music they make!!!!! Everyone should see them live at least once!!! Talented, smart, funny, entertaining!!!!
USS put on a great show. Their sound was fantastic, their humour and engaging the crowd was good and they did an excellent job at a few cover tunes as well! Can't wait to see them again in the future. Great that they came out and met the fans after the show and signed autographs etc.
