About

For more than 20 years, Usher has captured the music world with his sensual croon, R&B anthems, club hits, and self-proclaimed “revolutionary pop.” Usher’s 2012 album Looking 4 Myself spawned the megahits “Scream” and “Climax,” the latter sustaining an 11-week reign atop Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, his 12th number one on the chart, and earning Usher a Grammy Award for Best R&B performance. Ticket buyers praise Usher’s sheer athleticism and explosive dance numbers in concert, but also appreciate his agile voice when his falsetto elicits screams from the crowds. Usher has toured and collaborated with many artists including Trey Songz, will.i.am, and Miguel. Usher was key in Justin Bieber’s career mentoring the young popstar and was a coach on NBC’s reality singing competition The Voice during its fourth season.

Usher found success in the late 1990s with hits like “Nice & Slow” and later with his Grammy Award-winning singles, “U Remind Me” and “U Don’t Have to Call.” A critics and fan favorite, Confessions (2004) produced the massive hits “Yeah!” and “Confessions Part II.”
Usher is currently working on his next album and will appear in “Hands of Stone” as the boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard alongside Robert De Niro in 2014.

    Usher was alright

    by Myster1987 on 2017-07-18Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Overall the show was alright, but definitely not worth what we paid. This performance would have been better suited for the Cowboys tent or the coke-cola stage outside. for $100+ tickets would have expected some dancers or some good visuals, but didn't have anything. Was also expecting more since it was at the saddledome and not just a random stampede stage or venue. End of the performance he just kind of left and had the Roots close out. Wasn't too familiar with the Roots music, but I thought they did a really good job and there was a guy on a beat box machine which was probably the highlight of the show.

So talented. Wish he would have done an encore. He was late coming but worth the wait for sure.

    Mediocre at Best

by AlbertaGuy on 2017-07-18Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

While Usher still remains an AMAZING Singer and Dancer, his stage presence was mediocre at best. I've seen better stage setups at Casinos. Given his tenure in the business and acts he represents with his management company I was expecting an over-the-top stage, amazing lighting and backdrop, back-up dancers, and costumes - a real show but instead you got an entry level performance. He didn't even perform an encore which was super disappointing. The lights dimmed, everyone clapping, whistling and cheering, then nothing. When you charge $300 a ticket you expect more!

Was dissapointed in Usher. Was all instrumental with The Roots and was expecting more of Usher. Also was very dissapointing on how he left the stage at the end.

Saw him in Toronto and he was much better. Couldn't hear him over the roots. They should have been two separate concerts

    Very dissapointed with this Concert

by Bife on 2017-07-18Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

We were looking forward for this Concert, and it was a forgettable event. Usher has a to do this alone. The Roots were so many people and so loud , it was not pleasant at all. It was The Roots' concert basically, Usher seemed to be an addition, and we were not interested in listening to them. They have to manage the sound better. It was pure loud noise, not music. We regret very much this waste of time and money. The Concert was said to start at 7:30 pm and it started at 9 pm. We left at 10:30 pm, it was too much for us, very unpleasant. Usher might be good, but we couldn't appreciate that in this Concert.

Usher was singing his songs to roots music. I thought I was seeing the roots and usher separately.

AFTER waiting an 1.5 hrs for the concert to start I expected to be dancing along with Usher and his dancers and be hoarse from singing along instead I felt like I was at amateur jazz nite.. I left mid performance, wish I could get a refund..

    Never Again !!!!

by Jorgy on 2014-12-04Rogers Arena - Vancouver

First of all he had 2 groups to open for him, from 730-9 pm. The "music" was so loud and extremely distorted. We couldn't hear the words or follow the music Perhaps the people in the front on the floor could hear it ok? But we hung out to see USHER, and were hoping he would take care of the distortion. However when he came on nothing changed. Loud! Distorted sounds! We hoped for a change but it didn't come and we left before the concert was over. Our ears were ringing for the rest of the evening! We are so disappointed with USHER!! Ticketmaster: We want our money back!!! We live on the Sunshine Coast, so we have the cost of the tickets, parking, ferry, food and hotel. We select concerts because of cost and thought USHER would be a great evening. Wow, not so.

    Usher was disappointing

by isitoveryet on 2014-12-03Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I'll admit up front that I'm not a huge Usher fan. I first remember seeing him when he sang at the Michael Jackson memorial service. But I know enough of his songs since then and I've seen him sing and dance on award shows enough to want to see him in concert. I was really looking forward to singing and dancing all night. I didn't recognize the first couple of songs until he play OMG third or fourth. Then I sat in my seat waiting for another song I knew for the next hour and twenty minutes. Finally he sang Yeah and DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again. And then he said thanks and goodnight. He rubbed salt in the wounds by singing just ONE LINE of More as he came back for the encore. He only did one song as an encore, Without U. I left the arena thinking is that all there is? He did do some newer songs toward the end, but by then I had been lulled into a state of relaxation where I barely remember them. Early in the concert Usher himself said that he had two sets of fans, those that had been with him from the beginning and then newer fans who only know him recently. He said the long-time fans would get a treat and the newer fans would get a lesson. I learned that I prefer his upbeat songs over his slower R&B songs, but he doesn't really have that many. Even the dancing wasn't as entertaining as I expected because most of the songs were so slow. The long-time fans did seem to enjoy the show. Plenty of people were up singing along and swaying to the music. I'm just warning the fans like me that you might want to save your money for another act.

    Usher a great showman

    by Puddles2 on 2014-12-03Rexall Place - Edmonton

Not impressed with opening act August. Too crude for my liking and sexist, talking about my ladies, etc. and the two dancers with him just looked like they came from pole-dancing. He seemed like an okay singer. Usher gave his all to the performance. Hitting all the notes, his moves mesmerizing and so smooth. The performance was great but the sound disappointing. Most of the time it was hard to hear much of his voice over the loud music, bass, drum crashing.

    Usher was magical!!

    by Rosanna1986 on 2014-12-03Rexall Place - Edmonton

August Alsina opened and he was beyond amazing! Usher came on and performed all his hit songs and some new ones, and it was all equally entertaining and fantastic! SO worth the drive to Edmonton!! Wish he performed longer but still a great show, dancers, band and the DJ are so talented. Only thing is the show started late so it felt like we didn't get enough time for Usher.
