About

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vince Gill has become one of the most celebrated country artists of all-time, selling over 24 million albums throughout his career and winning 20 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country artist in history. In 2013, he played for ticket holders in concert across North America and the U.K. and is scheduled to tour with George Strait in 2014. Born in 1957 in Oklahoma, he learned how to play several instruments including banjo and guitar as a child and played in a bluegrass band in high school. He joined the country band Pure Prairie League in the late 1970s before leaving the group in 1982 to pursue his solo career. He put out four solo albums in the 1980s, including 1984’s Turn Me Loose and 1989’s When I Call Your Name, before releasing the double platinum 1991 album Pocket Full of Gold. His next album, 1992’s I Still Believe in You, reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and sold over three million copies with hit singles “What the Cowgirls Do” and “Whenever You Come Around.” Gill’s 1993 Christmas album Let There Be Peace on Earth also went platinum, and 1994’s When Love Finds You peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard chart, his most successful album selling over four million copies. More commercial and critical success followed with 1996’s High Lonesome Sound and 1998’s The Key, and his next five solo albums reached the country top five, including 2000’s Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye and 2006’s These Days. The Country Music Association has bestowed Gill with a total of 18 CMA Awards including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist Awards, and in 2007, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

This is the second time we see Vince at Rama and we enjoyed every minute. His show is polished but flows in a quite intimate and personal way. The sound quality was superb. It is very rare that a show at Rama has poor sound, but Vince must have brought some sound wizards. I swear when I closed my eyes, the sound was so good, I felt I was listening to a CD. His vocals and guitar playing as usual were outstanding as was each and every member of the band. Can't wait for him to come back!

  • Vince Gill Just Keeps Getting Better

Vince Gill is a consumate entertainer. Not only does he have an amazing voice and is an excellent musician, he is hillarious. He could easily start a new carreer as a stand-up comedian. I saw him last year a Rama. That show was good and I found this one even better.

Two hours of great entertainment. No opening act, just Vince and his band with fantastic guitar playing and wonderful songs.

  • Vince Gill was awesome; venue was terrible

by aaba on 2011-10-18Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 2 out of 5

Vince Gill played non-stop for two hours and it was a wonderful show. The Emerald Queen Casinos and Hotel are absolutely smoked-filled and difficult to stay in for any length of time. The smoke from the casino totally seeped into all the hotel rooms even when they were supposedly non-smoking. The seating at the show were small chairs side by side with no space between and on a level surface so you could not see the stage but had to watch the show from two large screen at the side of the stage. Vince Gill wonderful; venue terrible.

It was great to finally see Vince. This was a great show. He is a super musician and a great entertainer. His voice is like velvet and his guitar playing outstanding. The quality of this show was excellent. And thanks to the wonderful people at Casinorama for making it an extra special visit. My husband had broken his ankle just a couple of weeks before the show and the staff were super kind and helpful and found us seats that made it comfortable for my husband. Thanks for a great evening!

Throughly enjoyed every song that Vince Gill sang. Developed a new appreciation of him, with his talking about personal matters. Vince came across as a really 'down to earth' and a very 'sincere' person.

Once again another excellent concert by Vince Gill. You are never dissappointed with his concerts - he sings all of his hits plus added some new material. He is definitely an all around entertainer!!! He is always at ease with the audience, makes you feel really comfortable!! HIs voice is still "spot on" and man can he play that guitar!!!! I will definitely go see him again - hopefully he will be back soon!!
