Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (then the Arizona Coyotes, who were in play from 1994 to 2024). In the 14 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made eight playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Selänne and Teppo Numminen.

Jets won. Getting down town to game and parking is a pain but supper at Moxies was great.
Kids had a blast at their first ever game vs. The Blues on Feb 1. It’s hard to find seats for the entire family. So fortunate we were finally able to go! Awesome memories!
Great seats location allowed us to see close up action and the players as well. Very enjoyable game overall! Had a great time.
Me and my two young boys loved the experience it was a great game hoping to go to another game soon or all of the games
Had fantastic time at the Jets game, that team is a blast to watch win!
Great game. Very entertaining and amazing. Can’t wait to see another
My daughter and son in-law sat in our seats in the 3rd row while home for Christmas. and my son and I were in section 212 behind the goal. We enjoyed the game with its comebacks and excitement of the tying goal by Blake Wheeler at our end. The overtime loss was disappointing. My son in-law's only other Jets game was the 2019 winter classic so this was warmer than Mosaiac stadium in Regina. His Christmas present was a Jets classic jersey which he proudly wore. The atmosphere was holiday like with lots of families and children since there was no school the next day. We all enjoyed the evening and we at least got 1 point.
Gaining entrance, staff, refreshments, excellent. Youngsters in our section really well-behaved. Music? was much too loud but we were warned that ear plugs were available. If we attend another game we will take advantage and listen to Dennis's description of the game. Again, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Building was first class and even the view from the upper level was fine. Seats offered little elbow room.
Actually am a Hab's fan from Sachigo Lake Ontario and flew in for the event and was a worth while trip, everyone at the MTS center was friendly especially the staff thumps up and yes it was fun.
Excellent game. Always a treat going to the MTS Center to watch a game.... regardless of outcome!
Patrick Kane was well worth the price of admission. He lived up to his billing in a three point game (1g, 2a). Overall, a great experience at the Winnipeg Bell MTS Place.
Awesome game. The jets are awesome, great entertainment for the family!!!!!!
Lots of great people at this game with excellent staff working there. The game was goo also, they won.
I bought seats in the second row where there was no glass. It seems less and less players come over to the crowd to sign autographs. So many of them just stay in center ice. This year I wanted to be close for my son so he could meet his favorite team. Laine came over and the security guard allowed so many kids to come down the stairs that he didn’t even make it down the row to us and left. We paid more for those seats for that purpose and I think that’s extremely unfair and my son was very disappointed. For this type of event I think the jets need to focus more on the kids and the crowd and not just themselves. We are the people that buy their tickets to their games and so few of them even came over to the crowd. Overall I was very disappointed this year with how it was structured and how the jets treated the crowd.
Was a very fun experience. More geared towards family than anything else. Nice to see the players interact with the crowd and the kids.
This game was Hockey Fights Cancer night and as a cancer survivor this is my favorite game of the year. I dressed up all in purple (jersey, wig, nails and makeup). I even made the Jumbo Tron. The Jets won which made it even better.
Jets were great. Peopke were helpful and positive. Cost was abit over the top for everything around this event. Tickets. Food drinks parking. Way too overpriced
They loved it the jets gear we bought the whole nhl experience
Great seats, Great venue! The games was amazing start to finish. The view from section 121 were perfect. No jumbotron needed.
Did not enjoy the fact that game time was 6 instead of 7
