Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (then the Arizona Coyotes, who were in play from 1994 to 2024). In the 14 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made eight playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Selänne and Teppo Numminen.

Good seats. Right at the top row of the third level but no obstructions.
what an amazing night! My wife and I make a point of getting the best seats I can find for our far too few date nights. we were sitting in 105 and the view was incredible. I personally loved how loud the music is and the energy in the building was electric. Laine with a hattrick means I threw my favorite hat on the ice, but I can't think of a better way to lose your favorite hat. 8-2 was the final score and every minute of the experience exceeded expectations. Go Jets Go!!!
Great hockey barn. Second to only Bell Centre in noise. Not great if you are over 6'0 tho...very tight seating.
Great seats. Awesome environment!!!! Will be purchasing more in the near future.
My husband and I were fortunate enough to get tickets for the Home Opener, lots of excitement in the air ! Awesome tribute to "Kroppy" and kudos to the Jets organization for honoring him. Nice touch to add the limited edition "Kroppy" pin and for keeping the price reasonable.
This was an anniversary gift for my husband. Only reason that we could "afford" the seats was game was pre-season .... The unfortunate part is that the seats are very close and small and unfortunately the person to my right was a bigger man - this created some issues at times. The game was a good overall - beer and food prices bit high.
it was awesome, had a blast. Winnipeg jets won the game easily
Not a season the fans wanted to see...but a good way to end the home stance with a 4-1 win
first NHL game up close to the ice surface, crowd around us super friendly and a lot of fun, game play up close and exciting, amazing hits and loud.
A great match up between the Jets and the Wild to end off the home games for the season. The Jets gave us fans a ton to cheer about, and it's always a great experience attending a game...we'll get to the first round of playoffs next year! GO JETS GO!!
The three star rating is based on the teams and their standings at then time of the game Since it was the only game we saw this year, and both teams were out of the playoffs. The building seemed to lack some excitement. Also having to scan your ticket to move about the building seems alittle cumbersome and awkward Poor building design causes these kind of problems.
Seats were good, got to see Zack Smith score a goal at our end of the rink! But the highlight of the night was the amount of respect, cheering and applause for Kroppy who is the number#1 fan of the jets. He is soon to be 93 and has not missed many of the jets home games. He drives in from Kenora, which is 2 hours away. Didn't,t know our seats were in the VIP section, and enjoyed the extra attention. Overall an excellent birthday present for my husband.
Took my niece and nephew to see the game. We had a good time - maybe not $200 each of a good time, but it was fun. The off-ice parts of the production were also entertaining. Great to see the CHL boys playing grown up hockey! I am stealing the taco salad in a bag idea for my next party!
Whether the team wins or not, the experience is always great. I buy the cheapest seats and the sightlines are excellent. Hot Dogs were hot and the bread was soft and fresh. Staff is friendly.
Great comeback win in the 3rd and overall great experience at the MTS Center. Go Jets Go!!
View was better than I thought they would be for that high up. Thoroughly enjoyed the game. Too bad the Jets lost.
Maybe the arrival of McDavid was too much for the Jets and left them starstruck, as they did not play hockey until the 3rd period.
Seats were a reasonable price. Good view! My son had a very good time at the game.
I could bare to sit through the entire 6-2 loss. I thought for sure this would be our first 3 game winning streak this season. I left right after the 50-50 draw, it was obvious the Jets were doomed.
I paid to watch a hockey game and watched a ECHL worthy play for NHL price. way too many give aways If anything paid for the comic relief such as Devils first goal on two falling Jets.
