Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (then the Arizona Coyotes, who were in play from 1994 to 2024). In the 14 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made eight playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Selänne and Teppo Numminen.

We pulled our star goalie , their`s was unbeatable. What else can I say.
Poor Jets could not get a goal right off the hop! They seemed sluggish so wasn't one of their best games. But took my dad for the first time and he loved it. Its all about making memories and we had fun from eating the humongous JETDOG to the icecold raspberry lemonade from Timmy's...all around great night! :)
Tyler Myers faked out Dustin Brown and scored to break a 1-1 tie and Andrew Ladd scored the winner and the insurance marker to send Jonathan Quick to the showers and the Jets dethroned the Los Angeles Kings 5-2. Drew Stafford opened the scoring as set up by Mark Scheifele and newly-acquired Jiri Tlusty. It was a very well played game by the Jets as they continue to maintain their hold on the 7th seed in the Western Conference which would put them in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since the franchise relocated from Atlanta.
The fans were so engaged in the game. The jets were on fire!
it was an awesome gameone of the best games I went to
Excellent game although we lost in shootout. A great seat in the southend, good view of the entire ice.
I came to Manitoba for the first time and seeing as I am a huge hockey fan, I had no choice but to come see the Winnipeg Jets. I'd like to start by saying that the Winnipeg Jets fans are true hockey fans! They are still talking about the departure of the Jets back in the days and how happy they have returned. I will never forget my experience and I extremely recommend to everyone that comes to visit Winnipeg / Manitoba to go see the Jets!
This was a really good game to watch especially with the overtime and then the shootout!!! So glad I got tickets to this game!
Always enjoy watching the Jets play! The game was a nail biter but the Jets took the win in a shoot out!!!
Jets exploded for 4 goals in the 2nd period including the power play by Dustin Byfuglien and the MTS Centre erupted as the Jets defeated the Colorado Avalanche 5-3. The win allowed the Jets to increase their lead over Colorado to 9 points so it was a huge win to say the least.
Ya I went to the Jets game on Feb. 6/15 against the Blackhawks Had a great time, unfortunately they lost in overtime but over all was a good game! Went to the exchange restaurant about 2 hours before puck drop and had dinner and a couple of beers will definitely try a make another game before playoffs. Hopefully they make it that far! Lol I think it would be a lot better if I would have went with someone. Oh well maybe next time.
Great game, awesome entertainment at all breaks, sure beats commercials on tv. Loved being there
Great venue, good seats but the Jets lost.. I will attend another game this year.
The seat I had was very good. I had an excellent view and friendly season tickets holders on each side of me.
Purchased tickets 4 hours before game time. Price was good, seats were excellent! Sat in the 103 section. Jets entertained us till the end. Pavelec was outstanding especially in the shootout.
First visit to a Jets game. Great crowd makes the event exciting. A great buzz in the rink. Food options were below average. Good selection of beers.
Great Experience. Movement to and from venue was good
Fun times for my two teenage boys. A memorable evening
Thought it was a mediocre hockey game, both teams looked tired and didn't give their best performance of the season. But I think that it will be hit and miss on performance and game quality throughout the season. Can't predict injuries, life... it's all hockey which is the great part of it. Still a great game to watch at any time. The seats were good, the second to last row of the arena. I would rather sit higher up in the 300's than the bottom three rows, as the height helps you avoid the railings. I am continually amazed at how many seats have impeded view, there has to be a better method than that railing system they have throughout the arena. Getting into the arena was very easy, and they have enough going on to keep yourself entertained if you go early. I have always felt the lineups to the washroom are too long - never ceases to amaze that they wouldn't plan for more heads when building the place. And getting out of the 300's is always a thing. They only have two main exits, one at each side, and it's just a crawl to get out. Really, whats the hurry... but it should still travel a bit faster.
I love watching the jets and we have season tickets in 314,row 1. These seats are great as you can see everything. I wanted to treat my husband by getting seats in the 100 section (we had behind bench for MB Moose) so I was able to get seats in the corner row, 7. The seats were horrible! There was no room and the seats moved every time anyone in row moved. It was hard to get by people to reach our seats. Also, the worse, the glare from the glass. You couldn't see any plays on the side or down at end. I wouldn't pay those prices to sit there ever again. I feel bad for the season holders who sit in that area. The MTS centre should really look into these issues to help the fans who pay their hard warned money to have a great experience that they aren't receiving now.
