Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (then the Arizona Coyotes, who were in play from 1994 to 2024). In the 14 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made eight playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Selänne and Teppo Numminen.

A watershed game for the Leafs as they just fired head coach Randy Carlyle today. The Jets took advantage of a pretty tired and lacklustre Maple Leafs squad and embarrassed them to the tune of a 5-1 victory. Dustin Byfuglien lit up at least two Leafs players like they were Christmas trees and scored the insurance marker.
Other than the same complaint I always have is that the seats are way tooooo crampt, I only went because my son got tickets for Christmas. This arena could have been built with more of an interest taken into account for people with mobility limitations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening watching the Jets play so well. We watch all the games on television, but it's so amazing to be there in person to be part of all the excitement.
This was our 2nd game of the season and its a different feeling and atmosphere than watching on TV. Was actually expecting more excitement for a New Years Eve game from both the fans and players.
Great seats. Top price. Service in premium seats was poor. Food was cold. Next time wouldn't pay for these seats.

intimate setting of MTS centre is one of the best arena's to watch an NHL game. good selection of food and easy to get too.
The game was great. The seats were fantastic.The experience is dependent on the people around you. That can't be controlled and can ruined easily. That is what happened but at no fault to anyone but the jerks behind me.
Regular NHL scheduled game. It was terrific that it was a Sunday afternoon game. The Jets staged a terrific comeback to tie the game before the Ducks scored a Mighty, Mighty big goal in overtime to take the victory.
Great game of hockey, Jagr was in the house, former Moose players in the building, and a victory by the Jets to honor the 10 years of MTS Centre. Very great game played too.
Great game, although the Jets fell to the Blues, the Jets team played some decent hockey. Unfortunately their mistakes became costly, and Blues capitalized.
Took my Fiance to her 1st NHL game. Energy was great!! Still a good view from 300 section. Only issue is that the 300 section is a little tight and would not recommended it for older people due to being steep.
Third row seats at the last minute- best seats in the house! This game had everything, but most importantly- a WIN!! Great night out.
