    An amazing crowd !

by Jmcnizzle on 2010-11-15Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Listening party was a lovely start to the night and it was a pleasure to see a (somewhat) local band at the commodore. Ra ra riot was riotously beautiful with its floating five part harmonies and impressive enthusiasm. They were as into it as the crowd. Wintersleeps segments made the audience feel as though they were peeking into a jam session sometimes while also hearing there favorite hits like oblivion an jaws of life. An all around intimate and pleasing show.

    Wintersleep was Tiring

    by Ladybird99 on 2010-11-15Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Concerts are fun really no matter who you're going to see, but I felt tired listening and watching what seemed like the same song/performance over and over.

    Good show

by Slpnaway on 2010-10-28The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

Wintersleep's music grows on you - always a good sign. Lead singer has an interesting voice - I would definitely go see this band again. Pleasant surprise was Rah-Rah - never heard them before but very enjoyable - bought one of their CDs. Besnard Lakes not so great but mercifully brief. A good night and very good value for money.

There was no bibernating for Wintersleep tonight!

by Rbeau on 2010-10-27The Music Hall - LONDON

I have seen Wintersleep many times including in New York and L.A., but the small club atmosphere is unbeatable! They played most songs from their two latest albums and rocked them. If I had one complete it would be that they should play more of their earlier music. That being said, they don't have to.

    Incredible performance

by Eulogy on 2010-10-25The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

Walked into this concert with little knowledge of Wintersleep or the opening acts and left a huge fan. Wintersleeps performance was flawless, engaging and incredibly energetic. The small venue created a great atmosphere and the crowd seemed to feed off all the energy, singing along and dancing. The Besnard Lakes were a great opening act. I wasn't sure what to expect but left with a cd and will definitely keep an eye out for future shows.

The show was great from start to finish - Rah Rah, The Besnard Lakes, and what a finish with two hours of Wintersleep! High energy, fun setlists, amazing talent.

    Great show

by Ewank on 2010-10-22The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

Wintersleep continues to display a tight melodic sound with incredible peaks and valleys. Although much of the show revolved around their two newest albums, Welcome to the NIght Sky and New Inheritors, some of their great classics made it in, such as Oblivion, Caliper. The main miss in the show was the missing of Nerves Normal, Breathes Normal. Rah Rah opened the show and by the second song, I knew that I would be buying their CD's. Bresnard Lakes was okay, but mostly forgettable.

    ridiculously awesome!!

by sarcasmgirl on 2010-10-22The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

Having been to Hamilton Place before, I was expecting the venue to be less than stellar, but The Studio is actually a really great place for an amazing sound. I've never heard the Ra Ra's before and they blew me away with their opening act - great sound (somewhat Arcade Fire-like) and they're all really amazing instrumentalists. I especially have to say kudos to the drummer (who also sang, and played both bass and keyboard) - certainly one of the best drummers I've come across in the music I listen to!! The Besnard Lakes were equally amazing. They totally rocked the roof off the house! I only wish that their set could have been longer. This is the first time I've seen them live, and let me say - if you get the chance, go see them live! They really are an incredible band. And finally, Wintersleep. What can I say? They were amazing. This was the third time I've seen them live, and they truly are an amazing live band - don't get me wrong, I love their albums, but the music comes alive in concert. They played a lot of my favourite songs, and surprised with Miasmal Smoke and the Yellow Bellied Freaks. If only the encore could have been longer. As with all great concerts, I left feeling like no time had passed at all. And wanting more.
