    Amazing white stallions!

    by Joe22 on 2009-08-25MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I was amazed with the grace, beauty and strength of these stallions. Watching their legs, I saw the close relationship of human legs. If you were only watching their legs, you would think they were human legs in white tights! It reminded me of the strength and discipline that a dancer would endure.

Lipizzaner gets 5 hoofs out of 5!

by LadyHurricane on 2009-08-25MTS Centre - Winnipeg

This was such an amazing show! The horse choreography was like watching synchronized swimming... on horses! The stallions were beautiful, and the MC did an amazing job with the history and stories of the breed of horses. Truly unforgettable. It was a nice added touch when the MC and the stallions did a demonstration of different trotts, walks, and stands. There were also some comical moments... like watching the stallions walking diagonally down the stage. The costumes were a VERY nice touch. Showing different attire that was worn during the war. I would ABSOLUTELY go to see this show again when it returns to Winnipeg, MB

    OK if you love horses

by Winnipegger on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

This is an event that has been coming to Winnipeg and travelling around the world for years. The family has often wondered what it was like so we decided to go this year. It was unique and reasonably entertaining show. I lot of people there had been there before - I guess you have to be big horse fans. We are not so this was a one-off for us. Wouldn't recommend unless you are horse fans or curious like us.

    Lipizzaner Stallions

by LADYHAWKMB on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The floor seats were great. We were up front and personal with the horses and the riders. I have waited for over 40 years to get to see the Lipizzaner horses and it was worth the wait. I will definitely go when they come back.

    Amazing Lipizzaner Stallions

by caseymarch on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The event was more than just the stallions and riders doing their wonderful performance. It was also very informative. The host of the show gave a very interesting history of the stallions, as to where they originated from, how they were used in the war, why the stallions are used for the performances and not the mares, the length of time it takes to train these beautiful animals, how they are not born white but change color or a period of years and how three of the stallions were rescue animals. The grace and elegance of these beautiful horses and their riders is really a sight to behold.

    Absolutely Amazing

    by Winnipegger123 on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

This is my third time seeing the show, they were simply amazing... as they were every other time I've seen them. We had the best seats in the house, front row right on the floor. Truly an amazing experience. I'd recommend this show to anyone, even if you don't like horses.

    The Lipizzaner just awesome

by pugette on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The show was just awesome. The riders showed kindness and praise for that majestic , beautiful proud animal. It was so nice to know that some were rescued from animal abuse (unfortunately that happened ) that alone speaks volumes for the show ,and all people involved.I would recommend this performance be seen by everyone. Keep up the good work for a very enjoyable display of a powerful animal & people together.

    Lipizzaner Stallions were captivating

by ShirleyS on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I brought a friend along, who owns horses, and she absolutely loved it. The dedication to preserving this art is to be commended. Thank you for sharing this talent.

Lipizzaner stallions not as good as they once was.

by practise on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I seen the Lipizzaner stallions a few years ago. The riding this time was not as good. The jumps the horses did this time not as precise. The maneuvers not as sharp.

    Marvellous stallions !!

by llovin on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Not even possible to describe the grace, the beauty of the Lipizzaner Stallions. Together with their riders, they gave a show to remember and dream about until the next time.

    I love white horses

    by Archer1105 on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Actually I love all horses, but these boys were amazing. They did all of their "dancing" and "airs" with such ease. I can hardly explain how much I enjoyed it. The only thing I can say that was not good was the fact that I couldn't go over and cuddle them.

    nice looking horses

by kcyd on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I thought that it was not as good as it was built up to be. It was to simple for the cost of the show. There should have been more action, not just a simple display of what could be done. More group displays.

    Depends on your background....

by horsenutz on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Perhaps I was a bit disappointed in this show as I attend a LARGE number of horse shows locally. I found the narration of the moves to be very good, it helped to point out their talents. Seemed as if a number of young "green" horses were used in the show however. Some of them seemed to be almost still in the learning stage. For those that are not around horses a great deal, I think it would be well worth the money. For those that see dressage frequently, it's not a lot of new stuff. The jumps were nice, but that segment was just not long enough. I would NOTrecommend the seats at the end of the arena though as all the action (specifically the jumps) were understandably angled towards the sides where the majority of people were. At the end, we saw mostly butts during the jumps. And don't take anything under row 3 anywhere....just too low. Children under 7 probably won't get the show either, as the focus is mostly on the precise footwork. I am not sorry we went.....I rather enjoyed the show as did my husband who usually prefers the OTHER horsepower. My young daughter was bored before intermission. The horses are in beautiful condition, and I believe the show helps in publicizing the intelligence of these animals, and the care required to keep them. Hats off to the group for the work they have done in the rehabilitation of those Florida animals. They looked wonderful!

    The Lipizzaner Stallions are incredible!

by Lorief on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I saw the Lipizzaner Stallions when they were in Winnipeg in 2005 and, as soon as the ad appeared for the 2009 show, I hurried to buy tickets, anxious to see them again. We went to the matinee performance and were amazed all over again. First of all, the horses are beautiful animals. The intricate precision of their choreographed routines was, to my inexpert eyes, flawless. For me, part of the attraction is the appeal of the long history of the Lipizzaner Stallions in Vienna, the drama of the World War II rescue (which I learned about many years ago watching the Disney movie "Miracle of The White Stallions", still vivid in my memory). Overall, the two-hour show passed all too quickly, and I look forward to their return to Winnipeg.

Should be seen in one's lifetime!

by Tearbear on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

It was a last minute decision, but something we'd had on our "to do list". So glad we were able to get seats and attend this wonderful performance. The show was very interesting, with the master of ceremonies giving us so much history and detailed information about the Lippazanner Stallions. The horses were beautiful and riders were totally amazing in what they were able to get their stallions to do with instructions we were unable to see. Such disciplined animals - really something to see at least once in your lifetime! Most enjoyable!

    Precision and Grace Lippizzaner Style

by HorseGal on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The Winnipeg showing of the world famous Lipizzaner Stallions was breathtakingly beautiful. The grace and precision of both horse and rider was striking. As the horses entered the show arena at the opening, I was brought to tears by the shear beauty and elegance of these remarkable creatures. As a horse rancher, I marveled at the training and committment of the riders and their organization. I was touched by the fact that the company that trains, breeds and sells Lipizzaners, was able to rescue eight animals from a horse facility here in North America. Two of these rescue horses were participants in this event. This was a very moving side bar. The public turn out was disappointing and while we do not know the numbers present, the house was sparsely populated. Could advertising or timing of the event been to blame? Maybe just the first nice weekend this month, worked against attendance. No matter, the Lipizzaner Stallions and their human counterparts were entertaining, moving, breathtaking and humbling examples of dedication and training at its very best. Thank you all for making this trip across Canada.

Lippizanner Stallions dance the night away

by Tete on 2009-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

It was really cool cause the horses were doing criss cross moves with their legs. It was really too bad that the black horse did not make the show, but by the end of the night I wanted to be the girl riding the horses not watching them.

    Venue was a joke

by Teabone on 2009-08-23Brandon Keystone Centre - Brandon

I'm sure the show might have been somewhat more enjoyable, had they held the event in an actual arena/stadium. sitting at ground level on hard plastic benches with no back support is not what I paid $70 for. I wouldn't hold a minor league hockey practice in the venue we had to watch this in. Very sad, I want my money back, I was ripped off. What I could see of the performance was good. For the record, this venue was not in the Keystone Centre, but rather in some barn way behind it. Well planned.
