    Exciting to see WOD live

by Butaro on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

The performance exceeded our expectation. We were so excited to see The Kings and Unity LA performed all their dances from the competition. Then there is our own top dancers from Toronto, Luka & Jenalyn, which is awesome!

    The performers were great

by S. on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

The show was great and I thought everyone danced really well. However I was under the impression that there would be more performers. I think it would have been nice to have more dancers from the show not only 3.

    Very Disappointing

by NBell on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Was so looking forward to the show. It started 20 minutes late. We are in Toronto and the announcer said “Welcome Vancouver”. There was no apology for that. The start of the show seemed awkward and unrehearsed. My friend had to leave because of the bright lights used, there was no warning. Only 3 acts came to Toronto and it became very repetitive. I love the show but the tour show was a huge disappointment. My friend who sat in the lobby should get his money back.

    Expected more dancers

by j. on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

The dancers were great but the event was limited to 3 groups. Of the 3 groups, 2 of the groups had members missing from the event. Two years ago there were more groups and solo dancers involved and that’s what I thought I was going to see this year. My fault for not reading the roster. Will be hesitate to go again. The show started 20 minutes late and ended 10 minutes early. Just expected more.

    Wonderful

by Ella on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

We were not disappointed!!! Once the main acts began we began to relive the tv memories that we enjoyed so much. Unity LA, The Kings and Luca and Jenalyn were incredibly talented. We were awestruck by their athleticism! It was a fabulous experience, my daughter’s birthday gift fulfilled our expectations.

    A huge disappointment

by Stephen on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

As big fans of WOD we were so looking forward to this show but quite honestly it was awful. Staging was terrible with lights so bright shining out into the audience that my wife had to wear sunglasses and at times I could barely see what was happening on stage. Sorry to say this was like a high school production. Knew it was going to be bad when the host announcer started the show by saying Hello Vancouver on at least two occasions-we were in Toronto! The banter between the dance groups was juvenile. There are only 3 dance acts from the WOD and although very talented could not carry the show. We left at intermission thinking this was a complete waste of money and our time. I can not recommend this show at all. Sorry but that is the truth!

    Disappointing

by Disappointed on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Felt very amateurish, lacking in number of acts. Asking dancers to be comedians was an error. Very underproduced.

    Disappointed

by s. on 2019-10-19Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I was disappointed that there were only 3 different acts in the performance. I was definitely excited to see the Kings perform but I hoping to see more than just the unity kings and our canadian couple. The stage lighting was also waaaay too bright. For someone who suffers from seizures, it definitely could have had a negative affect on me.

Great dancing but not enough groups !!

by Biner on 2019-10-14Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The dancing was great. Really enjoyed the videos of the individual dancers. Did not enjoy the banter between the groups. Was really disappointed that only three acts (two dance groups and one pair) were featured. I would not return if this continues to be the case.

    Amazing!!

by D. on 2019-10-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I loved the show a lot, the dancers were amazing. My only complaint is with the top row of stage lights, which seemed to be directed right at the audience’s face and the glare/flashing was sometimes disruptive and obscured what was going on.

    Limited World of Dance-rs

by Kyla on 2019-10-12Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I was very disappointed that there were only 3 dance groups performing at the World of Dance Tour in Edmonton. I have watched the show for two seasons and enjoyed the various types of dance, as well as fallen in love with many of the dancers. When I bought the tickets, the advertisement led me to believe that there would be a large variety of dancers performing on the tour. While the 3 groups that did perform were incredible, I felt a bit ripped off. I paid to see a variety of dancers and instead only got to see 3 groups. I know I was not the only one who felt this way. As well, there was a lot of filler (talk by the dancers). The cheesy jokes and 'chat' really could have been limited if they had more groups performing. (There would be less need for 'filler' while dancers did costume changes and/or caught their breath.) Overall, I wouldn't go to the show again unless more groups tour.

    VIP not worth it!

by M&M on 2019-10-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

We love the show and the dancers were superb, but the VIP experience was terrible. we paid 3x more for the VIP meet and greet as it was for my daughter’s birthday and she is a big fan. We arrived at the allotted time (3 hrs before showtime) and waited in the lobby for an hour. Nothing to do, no merchandise, no signs to take pictures with ... We were then ushered backstage and waited. When the doors were opened, each group of ticket holders could go into a room to get their photo taken with a selection of dancers. We could not take pictures on our cell, just the photographers. We were given some signed posters and then rushed out an emergency door that took us back outside. The “experience” was about 30 seconds with barely a hello. The dancers themselves seemed fri badly, but they were limited by the process. 5 days later the link to our incredibly expensive VIP photo is still not active. Amazing show, but I truly feel taken advantage of on the VIP.

    Only 3 acts?!?!

by Amie on 2019-10-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Last years WOD was WAY BETTER! This year having only 3 acts was very disappointing! It was great that the Seasons winners were involved tho!

World of dance is awesome 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼

by Laura on 2019-10-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Unfortunately we were far back, but performances were great. First half, filler and transitions were a bit awkward. I think there should have been a host for them. Sound, lighting and obviously dancing was amazing. Second half they seemed to hit their stride and had more impact even from far. Good job guys. I was also hoping to see more contestants.

great dancing but needed more dance groups

by McDeneau on 2019-10-12Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The three dance groups were spectacular. However, I would have expected there to be a top ten of dancers or at least several dance groups not just three and an emcee of some kind even if it was someone local. I thought the “fight” over who would emcee was funny and added entertainment but I fully expected an emcee that wasn’t dancing for the evening. Having more dance groups would have meant I got my money’s worth in terms of the amount of time I spent watching people actually dance. The show didn’t start on time and began at about 8:10 with video of the season followed by comedy before any dancing took place. Then a 20 minute intermission at 8:40 and I was in the parking lot by 9:45 so I’d estimate there was a total of 60 minutes of dancing. Anyway I expected more but kudos to the dancers they did a wonderful job given the circumstances

    Not good value for $$

by K on 2019-10-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The show started late, there were only three groups of dancers, the show was supposed to start at 8 p.m. but didn't start till 8:10 p.m. they danced for a bit , took s 20-minute intermission came on and danced again until 9:30 and then it was over. The dancing was good but became a little samey same after a bit. I didn't think it was very good value for the money you paid for the tickets

    Disappointed

by Joanne on 2019-10-12Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

We could find no information about who would be performing. We knew the Kings would be there as they won. Only 9 members of the dance troupe were there so there dances were not as big and grand as we had seen on TV. Only three acts and we had really hoped Briar Nolet would be there. We enjoyed the show but were very disappointed. We would not go again if the tour comes back after next season.
