    Don't waste your money

by Anonymous on 2012-10-13UCF Arena - Orlando

My husband, 2 teenage sons, and I were all really disappointed with this show in Orlando. The live part of the show was ok but nothing special. They couldn't get one of their stunts to even work and after trying to fix it, they gave up. There was a lot of Q&A time and time spent on stories also. We didn't go to this show to listen to a bunch of talking. They also showed stunts and clips on the screen quite a bit. . .fine but I can see that at home and the audience on the far sides of the arena couldn't even see the screens and had to yell out that they couldn't see. Much better show on television than live as it just wasn't worth the money.

Geared towards kids under 12 years old

by Robtsn on 2012-04-16Sony Centre - Toronto

Not at all as exciting as the TV show. I took my sons ages, 16, 18, and 20 as they love the TV show. The boys found it a little boring and expected more out of the show. And I expected more for the price of the tickets. Great for younger kids as they enjoyed the participation. For adults and teens.....don't bother.

Good show, but for a specific audience

by TheH on 2012-04-02Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I (an adult male) went to see the show on the basis of enjoying the TV series, and wanting to see the mythbusters live, hear some interesting stories, see some interesting experiments, etc. It was called the "behind the myths tour", after all. The audience around me was 90% children and parents thereof. I am advised that at other shows the ratio wasn't that high, and perhaps in other sections of the theatre it was lower as well; but the reason I say this is because to me, that was the target audience. I found that the show was really geared towards kids, and just didn't have the pizzaz to entertain me. They did a great job with the video clip packages they showed during the cuts between bits, and the set was great. Production value was pretty good overall. It was really just the material, for me. I won't spoil the show or anything, but it basically consisted of a series of maybe a dozen separate "bits" with no real tie-through. Two of the bits were Q&A with each of the guys. Most of the audience members polled were kids, and either made statements, not questions, or asked questions that were fairly routine (what's your favourite episode, do you remember when..., etc.) and no deep insight was granted. The segments that were about experimenting was sometimes real and sometimes gags, but most had a punchline which was, in my opinion, more entertaining to children than adults. They opened the show suggesting that they would try to teach about myths and science, but very few of the bits really spoke to a scientific point. The ones with gag punchlines mostly didn't, but even the legitimate bits (there was a competition involving two bikes where there was very little scientific purpose to it and just played for a cheep laugh). The only thing I will "spoil" (skip this paragraph if you don't want to know ANYTHING about the show, but I won't spoil the mechanics) is that one segment was a bed-of-nails segment. Depsite that segment being one of the more scientific/mythbusty segments in the show, and maybe it's just me, but I think that's one of those old standbys that I've seen explained three or four times before, and again, that's one reason I felt this played more towards children who might be awed by the bed of nails, than most adults who know the principles behind it... It was entertaining at times, but at the end of the show I felt a bit underwhelmed and that I hadn't really learned much of anything about the guys or the show or science. The climax was also underwhelming, as I've noted several reviewers pointing out. I would consider attending if they ever did another tour, but I'd want to know that they'd made changes to make the show more informative and less fluffy.

    Great show!

by Boca on 2012-03-31Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This was a great show, very entertaining, interesting. Just not quite long enough and the participation from the audience was great, would have been nice to have them use the whole theatre, with help of the theatre staff or their own staff...

    Absolutely amazing

by Mythmom on 2012-03-31Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

My sons are huge fans of the Mythbusters tv show and it was an absolute thrill for them to see Jamie and Adam in person. The only regret was that we sat in the Mezzanine and not the Orchestra and the kids would have loved the chance to participate in the show and you had to be in the orchestra for that.

    MythBusters was fun

by TonyRexdale on 2012-03-31Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Adam and Jaime were funny, witty and entertaining. The show was well script and they touched on the science behind-the-myth. The show was geared more towards kids and was more fun than educational. Good laughs and good fun mixed with some science.
