Arizona Coyotes History
Before they were the Arizona Coyotes, this franchise — a founding member of the World Hockey Association — was originally based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and began playing in 1972 as the Jets. The early team made headlines before the season even started after signing hockey star Bobby Hull from the Chicago Blackhawks. The Jets went on to be one of the best teams in the league, winning three titles from 1976 to 1979.
The WHA merged with the NHL before the 1979-1980 season, but the Jets were unable to maintain their dominance and the franchise was relocated to Arizona before the 1996-1997 season; they became known as the Phoenix Coyotes. The Coyotes subsequently qualified for the postseason in each of their first four seasons and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky became a minority owner of the team in 2000 and their head coach in 2005.
After filing bankruptcy in 2009, the team was later purchased by the NHL. Despite the tumultuous seasons, the Coyotes won 50 games during the 2009-2010 season. In the 2011-2012 season, they won their first division title in franchise history. In 2013, the NHL sold the team and its name was changed to the Arizona Coyotes in 2014. Since 1997, the Coyotes have made it to the playoffs a total of nine times.

When are tickets available for home games? And what price are they
From the purchase of the tickets I received daily emails regarding my tickets and the up and coming game. I was impressed to have a spokesperson from the coyotes call my home in Canada to inquire if I needed any assistance. Prior to the game my electronic tickets were not coming up on my phone. However the person at the ticket wicket was able to print my tickets without incident. Great experience, well run operation. Many thanks
Awesome game - new goalie did a great job! Can’t wait for March Flames @ Coyotes game
The Canucknuckleheads beat the Arizona Coyotes quite handsomely. The Coyotes are the worst team I have ever seen play. They are terrificly terrible.
The Anaheim Non-Mighty Ducks gave the Coyotes two points with no resistance. Wow, a really boring game.
We went to the Edmonton Oiler vs Phoenix Coyote game on February 17, 2018. A few things come to mind that might be important to other fans. The lower bowl seats in the corner had great sight lines. My wife is short and she had no problem seeing the game. The music is not too loud like it was in Las Vegas two days before. We needed ear plugs there. The concessions seemed a bit limited but we didn't journey too far from our seats in section 115. There was a hot dog stand with short lines close by. No drunk fans near us. That's good. Parking was very close to the arena which is beside the baseball park but dwarfed by it. There are lots of good restaurants beside the arena with free parking. We paid $10 and were very close. Getting away from the game seemed easy as we were on the freeway in just minutes.
The game was good but the arena is FREEZING and the music is 'way too loud.
Attended the Coyote game in March. Using our GPS we easily found the arena and parking. Downside was the parking was by the University of Phoenix and thus we entered the side of the building instead of the magnificent front and because there is no re-entry we didnt get to see the Westgate Entertainment area until after the game and by then it was dark. Plenty of things were happening on the concourse level and staff were friendly.
We had a fun time at the game despite the Coyotes' loss. The fans are great here. The food was overpriced but expected.
Excellent experience! The game was tied with 14 seconds left and had to go to overtime to be settled.
