Sarah McLachlan is one of most distinctive female vocalists after breaking out in the ’90s behind singles such as “Building a Mystery” and “I Will Remember You.” With 1994’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, McLachlan became a star. The album peaked at number 50 on the Billboard 200 chart and number five on the Canada Top Albums/CDs chart. As of 2023, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy has been certified platinum three times in the United States. McLachlan released her debut album Touch in 1988. Her 1997 effort Surfacing debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and hosted her three highest-charting Hot 100 singles: “Building a Mystery,” at No. 13, “Adia” at No. 3 and “Angel” at No. 4. The album went on to win two Grammy Awards. Surfacing coincided with the first Lilith Fair, the wildly successful all-female touring festival co-founded and hosted by McLachlan that took place from 1997 through 1999. In 2003, Afterglow marked McLachlan’s third consecutive Top 10 album, and she maintained that streak with studio albums released through 2014’s Shine On. McLachlan has won 12 JUNO Awards and in 2017 was inducted into The Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Two great song writers, singers! What a great evening
Love Sarah! Serena Ryder is a favorite as well. Was nice to see some of the music school students. A very enjoyable experience.
Loved the show … longtime fan and finally got to see her live!! Surprise of seeing Sareena Ryder as well made the show that much better!! Great Canadian talent!
I’ve seen Sarah M half a dozen times and she’s always fantastic. Her vocals are beautiful and dynamic. She always shares the behind the scene inspiration for her songs so the concerts feel intimate and genuine. The show was a little shorter than the norm, but with only her and her cellist to carry the show, I felt she performed a full show. She sang “Nothing Compares 2 U” as a tribute to the late Sinead O’Conner, which was incredibly moving. I did not like the venue (Grey Eagle Casino). The lobby area smells horribly of cigarette smoke and floor seating is not inclined so if you’re short, it can be more challenging to have a good view. There are screens projecting her performance, but the point of attending a live concert isn’t to watch a screen. Hope to see her back at the Jubilee or Jack Singer one day.
One of the best concerts I have ever been to. Great sound stage. Sarah was incredible. I saw her in 1993. She still has the most beautiful voice. Vanessa sang harmony perfectly. Her cello playing was a nice touch. The audience (including myself) could be heard singing along. I had goose bumps through the whole show!
This was the first time we've seen Sarah McLachlan perform live and the concert was excellent. No glitz and glamour - just Sarah singing and playing the piano or guitar and her accompanist playing the cello and singing harmony. The venue was full, showing how much people love to hear her music. Her warm manner and explanation of some of the songs made us feel connected to her and to her life experiences. A great evening with a wonderful performer and musician!
Sarah was incredible. Funny and moving and made it a truly intimate experience! So worth it!
We love Sarah McLachlan and we were not disappointed. Love her interaction with the crowd and how she introduces each song with a story behind it. And what a great voice! This time it was only her playing the piano, electric guitar and acoustic guitar accompanied by a friend playing acoustic guitar, cello and backup vocals. Very intimate concert. The only reason I dropped it down to a 4 star was the venue, Grey Eagle Resort event centre where the floor level seats were not tiered so had to look around all the heads in front of you. At least they had tv screens of her to watch her performance.
After 30+ years and still has such an angelic, strong voice. So real. So talented.❤️
