Formed in Brighton in 2004, The Kooks achieved mainstream commercial success almost immediately. Taking their name from the title of a David Bowie song, The Kooks signed to the Virgin Records label in 2005 and have not looked back since, enjoying Top 10 singles, No. 1 hit albums and a number of awards along the way.
Influenced by the music of artists such as The Police, The Strokes and The Rolling Stones, friends Luke Pritchard, Hugh Harris, Max Rafferty and Paul Garred formed The Kooks while at Brighton Music College. Just a few months after forming, the band was offered a recording contract with Virgin. The resulting debut album, Inside In/Inside Out, was an immediate smash hit in 2006, reaching No. 2 in the UK album chart, achieving platinum status in both the UK and Ireland, and winning many fans in the US. In 2008, The Kooks returned with another hit album Konk, featuring the tracks “Shine On” and “Always Where I Need to Be.” The Kooks embarked on an extensive tour to help promote the album. The third album from The Kooks, Junk of the Heart, was released in late 2011.
The commercial success of The Kooks has been matched with critical plaudits from their peers and the music industry. The single “She Moves in Her Own Way” was nominated for a BRIT Award in 2007. In 2006, The Kooks were crowned Best UK and Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards. That same year the band also picked up the UK Festival Award for Best Breakthrough Act. In addition to these wins, The Kooks have also been nominated on a number of occasions for both Q Awards and NME Awards.
All concerts of the night were incredible! We’ve been to The Kooks concerts 3 times before, and never cease to amaze us! Truly great show! We barely knew The Vaccines prior to attending their show, and we became instant fans after their performance! Absolutely phenomenal, tons of charisma and great playing!
Venue was great and staff were awesome! The kooks, Vaccines were fantastic and Dailey the great was a great surprise and rocked it 🤟🏼

The Kooks concert was amazing because the seats were good, the sound was good, the people that sat next to us were good, and it made the whole night amazing. I have wanted to see them for so many years but never got to and it was like a dream come true. Plus the opening band was awesome too! Such a fun and unforgettable vibe & night!
I love the kooks and would go see them again. I think having it on a better night rather than a civic holiday monday would have been a bit more convenient but I would not have missed it. Liked the venue too.
Had a great time seeing the Kooks at Danforth Music Hall. Had a reserved seat which was nice as you can arrive just in time for the show rather than much earlier. Had good sight lines. Theatre is nice. Saw the Kooks in 2008 at V-Fest and was thoroughly impressed then. Their new material is excellent and I bet they will have a good upcoming year. Nice intimate show and they played their familiar tunes as well. Crowd was very obviously enjoying it. Opening act Nightbox were excellent as well.
The venue was sweet. I loved the set up. The sound and lights were perfect, making te over concert so amazing!!
