Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
Great Show! Ticketmaster was convenient with getting tickets for us and having it in wallet was super. Willie did not disappoint. The band was super also.
Loved his music for sixty years and was in awe and in tears as I watched him live finally! He's the best!!!!
How amazing that we were fortunate enough to have been able to listen to such a great performer. Trigger is still in good playing condition, Willie's sister is a fabulous pianist and the band all together was awesome. No actual words except feel blessed and fortunate <3
Willie was great as usual. He played song after song that everyone knew. The audience spanned multiple generations and all walks of life. Everyone was there to see Willie and in great spirits. The venue is easy to get to and well run. Friendly, well trained staff all around. We were very disappointed at the $5 bottles of water. That is brutal. I can understand inflated beer prices. But water ! ? Come on ! The venue also needs a designated Uber ride pick up point for after the show. With clear signage for both patrons and drivers. We had a hell of a time trying to hook up with our Uber ride. Other than that it was a great day.
Concert was very good Willie and opening acts were awesome, Willie played for 15 minutes actually 90 minutes but felt like 15. :) , venue was very nice easy access free parking cold beer good price.. Down side Half of Willies Merch was taken away before end of concert so T shirt my lady and I were going to purchase was gone, also merch remaining did not have anything over size XL. Felt bad for seniors and handicap show goers as people stood the entire show leaving a bunch of the crowd not so happy as they could not see. I loved the show but would have liked to get a shirt as this will most likely be the last time I get to see him. ROCK ON WILLIE :)
Willie was awesome, venue beautiful. It was a good night.
Margo price, Sheryl Crow and Willie were fantastic. The other acts werent really my liking but all in all a great way to spend a Sunday. Can't wait for more legends to tour so we can see them!
Willie I thought did an excellent performance. And non stop. My first time seeing him. Both my wife and I left very satisfied. Did not expect that much stamina for a man his age. A treat to here some on his new recording. Needless to say Dwight Yoakam did a superb job too. Again more than I expected.
The circuit of the Americas is a great venue. Coming from Nova Scotia, Canada where a hot summer day is like 26 degrees, it was unfathomable for me to anticipate Texas weather. 2017's July 4th was 37 degrees and sunny - I almost melted!! The musicians were amazing. They had two stages but it's an amphitheater I mean you're outside in the hot sunlight it's very hard on the body. The venue was amazing though, they had water supplied to everyone all day, bathroom attendants, the crowd was big but moved easily, didn't seem over crowded or anything. We paid extra for entrance to the Luck Lounge and thank goodness as that was a shaded area. I've never sweat so much in my life! But the music was phenomenal. I just don't think I'll be back, unless they change venues to somewhere further north lol
Willie was fine, but definitely slowing down. Biggest issue was that Treasure Island wasn't prepared for the volume of vehicles descending on them for the concert. We were in stop and go traffic for 1.5 hrs getting in, and getting out...3 hours!!!
