BENNY BENASSI IN CONCERT:
Ever since his rise to dance music notoriety with ubiquitous 2002 electro banger "Satisfaction," Italian DJ/producer Benny Benassi has been a busy man, rounding out his own floor-filling releases with productions for megastars like Chris Brown and Madonna. With the late-2013 release of "Back to the Pump," the lead single from his sixth studio album, Benassi delivered another signature slice of electro that's already become a staple at his electric live sets on tour. With the new album all set to drop, Benassi has fans eagerly awaiting the chance to catch him live at select appearances in 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Milan, Benassi cut his teeth in the late '80s as an Italian club DJ. After working as a producer for various acts in the mid-'90s, he scored his first hit in 2001 with "I Feel So Fine," a No.1 hit on the UK club charts. A year later, "Satisfaction," the robot-voiced lead single from his debut LP Hypnotica, became a veritable international sensation, dominating dance floors and achieving crossover success on Top 40 charts around the world. Since then, Benassi has established himself as a tireless producer and remixer, working with a variety of artists including John Legend and Madonna. With a new album out in 2014, Benassi once again takes his adrenalin-filled live show on the road in support of the release.
Except for how hot the venue was, everything else was amazing. Benny brought a lot of positive energy, clearly knew what he was doing, and had a good time himself. He's a legend that I'm glad to cross off my bucket list!
A great venue is the Commodore and Benny Benassi put on an amazing show. I can't believe I'm saying this but the tickets were too cheap for his expertise!
We had the best night dancing for hours. Benny was epic. I wish Vancouver had more edm events and on a larger scale.
Benny was great but the sound check guy must have tried to blow our ear drums. It was insanely too loud. You know its loud when coat check also sold ear plugs. Couldn't talk to any friends and had to scream in the bartenders ear to get a drink, even then they could barely hear you. Left after 1.5 hours because we couldn't handle it anymore. Ears felt plugged and rang all night. Good thing good ol' Roxy still came through.

I’ve been to some nice events but this was really well done and my first time in this building. Great atmosphere, secure and everyone was having fun and a great time. Music was awesome as I was clubbing it in early 90’s. It was nice to return to days gone by and will continue to love Benny and the DJ scene until I can’t hear anymore. Loved the vibration and people who don’t listen to this music are missing out. Great job DJ’s and great spot for it. Loved the opener she was great.
