CARL COX IN CONCERT:

Calling Carl Cox a house music legend is an understatement. The British DJ and producer got his start playing underground raves in the '80s -- well before the mainstream even knew what a rave was -- and today he boasts his very own stage at some of the world's biggest electronic music festivals, including Tomorrowland and Electric Daisy Carnival. Whether he's dropping funky remixes of artists like Moby and Art of Noise or unleashing bangers of his own like "I Want You (Forever)," Cox is sure to have fans sweating on his upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Carl Cox's love affair with dance music began at age 15 after he was given a pair of turntables. He quickly immersed himself in London's budding dance music scene, playing sets of disco, rare groove, and electro at underground raves around the city. After being introduced to Chicago house in the late '80s Cox began producing his own tracks, making his debut in 1991 with proto-acid smash "I Want You (Forever)." The track landed at No. 23 on the UK Singles Chart, kicking off a decade-long run that saw Cox land an impressive eight singles on the charts. In addition to four studio albums, numerous compilation mixes, and dozens of acclaimed remixes, Cox has performed at some of the world's most prestigious clubs, earning himself international recognition as one of dance music's biggest names. Today, Cox continues to wow at festivals across the globe and introduce fans to the latest and greatest in house music.

    Crowd was the worst

by argentinaguy on 2017-06-19REBEL - Toronto

I'll never go to Rebel again. The crowd is the most obnoxious crowd I've ever been in. No dancing space, people overly sweaty... spilling their drinks with blank looks on their faces. Rebel is also in the middle of no where... so annoying to get to. Carl Cox the legend couldn't even keep us there past 3. Worst vibe ever.

It was a great event. The venue was top notch and the DJs both played great. We really needed a techno music night like that! Been too long!
