About
Lloyd Banks has been a member of G-Unit since 1999, after friends 50 Cent and Tony Yayo hit the mainstream. Banks has worked on a couple of G-Unit compilations, "Beg For Mercy" and "T.O.S." and has released three solo albums. Tickets to see G-Unit are a top draw, as the group performs together infrequently. Yet, due to their popularity, every concert they announce usually sells out quickly. Lloyd Banks also performs as a solo artist, but no upcoming tour has been announced. After leaving Interscope Records in 2009, Banks landed a record deal with EMI and released "H.F.M. 2 (Hunger For More 2)" in 2010. No official plans have been announced for a new studio album, although rumor has it G-Unit is working on a new project. "Hunger For More 2" provides the single "Start It Up" and is loaded with guest appearances from the likes of Eminem, Kanye West, Juelz Santana, 50 Cent, Styles P, Raekwon and Tony Yayo. Prior to "H.F.M. 2," Banks also released "Rotten Apple" (2006) and "The Hunger For More" (2004).
Raised in South Jamaica, Queens, Lloyd Banks met 50 Cent and Tony Yayo at a young age, and the three used rap as an outlet to get out of the streets. However, while Banks continued to be a popular act in Queens, 50 Cent and Yayo gained national recognition. 50 Cent brought Banks to G-Unit and helped him produce "The Hunger For More," which features the breakout single "On Fire." G-Unit continues to be one of the most popular rap groups of the 21st century, leading Lloyd Banks to hunger for more.
