UK garage and breakbeat producer Naughty Boy first rose to prominence producing records for top acts like Leona Lewis and Jennifer Hudson, but lately it’s his stellar solo work that’s generating buzz. He topped the UK Singles Chart in 2013 with “La La La”, a Sam Smith- featured slice of neo-soul breakbeat that achieved platinum sales in six countries and established him as a solo artist in his own right. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
 
Naughty Boy, a.k.a. Shahid Khan, was born to Pakistani parents in the London suburb of Watford. He began writing and recording songs in his parents’ garden shed after dropping out of university, and eventually he saved up enough money to move to a West London studio. His first success came in 2009 as co-writer and producer of Chipmunk’s hit single “Diamond Rings”, and he scored another hit the following year as producer of Wiley’s “Never Be Your Woman”. He continued to work as a producer for big-name acts like Lily Allen and Rihanna while working on his solo debut album. That album – 2013’s Hotel Cabana – was a massive success, peaking at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and producing four Top 10 singles including the international No. 1 hit “La La La” (feat. Sam Smith). A skilled songwriter, producer, and performer, Naughty Boy will continue his rise on his upcoming tour dates.
