Founded in 2000, the Storm have qualified for 18 of 24 postseasons and won four WNBA Championships, in 2004, 2010, 2018, and 2020. The Storm have built a sustained legacy with players such as 2022 Hall of Fame inductee Swin Cash, three-time WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson and three-time regular season assist leader Sue Bird. In 2015, the Storm drafted Jewell Lloyd at No. 1. She went on to be named Rookie of the Year, became a five-time All-Star and in 2023, won the Peak Performer Award for leading the league in scoring. The Storm’s subsequent No. 1 pick in 2016 was Breanna Stewart, who would win Rookie of the Year and MVP as a member of the Storm. The event was excellent, exciting family fun. Just a pleasure to be part of it.
Definitely would go back, surreal after watching for many years and finally seeing it live
The game was great, entertaining, and the crowd was loving it! Canada needs some WNBA teams stat!!!
Would love to see more games here. Enjoyed the experience.
What a great event! Although parking prices were ridiculous, it was nice to see tickets reasonable priced so more kids could come to the game. Would love to see more WNBA games held in Edmonton!
Excellent event, well managed throughout. Numerous pregame and in game activities. Well priced !
Very fun show hope it comes back next year and the following years
We had a wonderful time. The staff in the Rogers Place was very accomodating. I like the their safety procedure checking everything upon entering the stadium. It make you feel safe. Their food and merchandise are good and lots of choices to choose. The game itself is awesome my kids love it.
It was my first WNBA game and it made me want to have season tickets! It was a great event and the overall experience was great.
Was so impressive, the turnout was incredible. I wish they had more supplies of merchandise and specific to the teams. By the time we got there it was pretty picked over. Overall a great experience! Not a fan of the swarm dancers.
Such a great game and a fun experience all around. Bring the WNBA to Canada!!
Having a WNBA game in Canada was so great. Hope this was the first of more to come in Edmonton. Everything was run smoothly, the crowd was amazing, and it was a great game.
We loved everything about this! It was an incredible experience and I just want to do it again!
WNBA should have more appearances in Canada! My lady and I traveled from Yellowknife, NT and had the chance to experience an awesome performance. The atmosphere was wild! Neat prizes and gifts were given out left, right and centre. The DJ was throwing out some sick beats and the audience was ready to blow the roof off. Kia Nurse, from Hamilton, Ontario welcomed the crowd to the first WNBA game in Western Canada between the Los Angelas Sparks and Seattle Storm. It was a tight game right to the end. Everyone was on the edge of their seats right down to the last minute of play. Seattle was 1 three point shot away from tying the game until the Sparks gained possession, forcing a foul, bringing them to the line, and gaining 2 extra points to confirm the win 84-79 over Seattle. An intense game and an awesome atmosphere made it well worth it. We would defintely like to see more games in Canada. The more you promote it, the more ticket sales you'll get. Anyone that has the chance to watch the WNBA in Canada, buy a ticket!
We had a great time at the WNBA. We had lower bowl seats at a reasonable price. The organizers did a great job getting the crowd excited and the game was super fun to watch. Amazingly talented athletes. Hoping more games will come our way!
So happy we got to see this awesome game! Please come back again!
It was great to watch a professional basketball game and to see women in sports. We need more events like this!
It was all amazing, from purchasing tickets to scanning in at Rogers Place. This was a great experience for both myself and my daughter. We need more W games!
This was such a fun event. I loved having the opportunity to watch women play their sport at such a high level. I usually spend my money on the Oilers and Elks so basketball was an awesome change. The ticket prices were great and my daughter and I really enjoyed the event. Would definitely do it again.
Was awesome seeing the support for woman's basketball in Edmonton, with a nearly sold out crowd. Hopefully we get more events like this in the city in the near future!
