About

AC/DC IN CONCERT:

With dozens of driving anthems and countless epic concerts under their belt, AC/DC has become one of the most successful and recognizable hard rock bands ever. Powerhouse numbers like "You Shook Me All Night Long," "Highway to Hell," and "Back in Black" get ticket buyers headbanging along from the first few iconic chords, while a pyrotechnic stage show complete with fireworks, Jumbotrons, and stacks of cranked amplifiers ensures the whole arena sees, hears, and feels the thunder from start to finish. Legendary duck-walking guitarist Angus Young keeps crowds pumped with his relentless energy, doling out crushing riffs and lightning-fast licks with swagger to spare. And on the 2016 Rock or Bust Tour, special guest vocalist Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses steps in to lend his trademark range to AC/DC's earth-shaking sound, bringing a new edge to their larger-than-life performances.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Brothers Angus and Malcolm Young got the name AC/DC from the back of their sister Margret's sewing machine ñ the same one she used to sew the campy Catholic schoolboy uniform Angus used to wear on stage. The fledgling hard rockers started making a name for themselves in small Australian clubs in 1973, but things truly started to take off when they hooked up with wild-man singer Bon Scott the following year. Sadly, tragedy struck a few years later following the international success of 1979's Highway to Hell when Scott died after a night of heavy drinking. Encouraged by the support of the late singer's parents, the group doggedly carried on with new frontman Brian Johnson to complete work on their next album, Back in Black. Since its 1980 release, that album has sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide on the back of quintessential rock staples like "You Shook Me All Night Long," "Hell's Bells," and the title track. The band maintained a steady recording and touring schedule for the next three decades before health issues began to take their toll. First Malcolm Young was forced to retire in 2014 with Parkinson's disease, then hearing loss sidelined Brian Johnson midway through their 2016 Rock or Bust Tour. AC/DC announced that Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose would finish the tour in Johnson's place, while the latter explored hearing aids that would allow him to rejoin the group in the future without further damaging his hearing (happily he noted that he'll still be able to record music). This never-say-die attitude over the past 40 plus years has further glorified AC/DC's legend for fans, who know they'll rock the stage no matter what.

AC/DC was great even in the rain!!

by Chunk69 on 2015-09-24Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

AC/DC put on a good show even in not so good weather conditions....raining and cold. Those guys can still rock and sounded really good! Only thing I would have like to see is more crowd interaction....virtually none. Glad we had floor tickets...wasn't so crazy on the floor. The concourse was so packed you couldn't even move.

    ACDC Rocks!

by JDKJR on 2015-09-24Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

ACDC is the world's greatest rock and roll band. They rocked out the stadium for two hours but could have easily rocked another two. Every song was a pleasure to hear. New songs, old songs, everything was great! Everyone enjoyed themselves. The only downside was the weather. Pouring rain from start to finish.

    ACDC was a great show

by Nelly71 on 2015-09-24Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

It wouldn't be an ACDC show in Edmonton without it raining. It was a little wet and cold but they put on a great show and the atmosphere in the stadium was great to be a part of.

The crew from down under ROCK!! Even in the rain!

by Pidrock on 2015-09-23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The opening act(Vintage Trouble) were excellent... Got the crowd warmed up! AC/DC, what can I say.... They never disappoint!! The true "Rock & Roll band! Even in the rain an 6degree weather Angus was in a T-shirt and tearing up the solo's. Only complaint!!! The organization selling the T-shirts should be fired for how disorganized it was.. A lot of people missed the first act because waiting inline for a shirt!! That is the only thing that might make me not go back!!

    AC/DC rocked in the rain!!

by killer45 on 2015-09-23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The show was great. I never realized how truly amazing Angus is until I could actually watch his hands on the big screen. It rained the whole time, but watching them made me forget that it was. I have seen them four times now and I hope this is not the last!

by Ratz on 2015-09-23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Yes they are getting old but they can sure still rock. The light show that accompanied the performance was incredible! Although it poured rain, the show must go on!

    OMG AC/DC!!!!

by Hockeymom1234 on 2015-09-23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Awsome show. They boys still have it!!! New bass player, replacing Malcolm, was great. Even in the rain, it was a perfect night. My only complaint was the crowds in the concourse. Perhaps if they had moved t-shirt sales out front of CommonWealth Stadium or had them only on one side of the concourse and food and beer on the other side. If there had been a fire, it would have been a horrible.

    Amazing show by AC DC

by RichardR on 2015-09-23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

The AC DC concert was amazing, as was expected. I've never seen them before, but I would go to see them again. Being an outdoor venue, it unfortunately rained throughout the entire show, but there's nothing the band could do about that. People dressed for it, and enjoy the show, despite the rain.

    AC/DC

by Jfreedom on 2015-09-23Commonwealth Stadium / Stade du Commonwealth - Edmonton

Fantastic . Serious rock no matter what the weather. Angus solo amazing. Can not stop smiling when recalling the night. Red horns flashing everywhere. One issue was a lady with umbrella. No umbrella should be allowed.
