About

Adele has been a superstar since the release of her debut album 19 in 2008. The British singer has been showered with accolades, including 16 Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for “Skyfall.” Adele’s blend of classical soul and gospel with heartfelt pop balladry has made her an international phenomenon. Her second album, 21 (2011), sold over 31 million copies and topped the Billboard 200 for 24 weeks, becoming the bestselling album of the 21st century. She continued her chart-topping dominance on 25 (2015) and 30 (2021) — the latter becoming the fastest-selling album of the year in both the United States and United Kingdom. In November 2021, Adele announced WEEKENDS WITH ADELE, an exclusive residency at Las Vegas’ The Colosseum at Caesars Palace that runs through 2024.

    Adele In Toronto 2011

by INGTV on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This was the concert of the year for me. The opening act, The Civil Wars were fantastic as an opener !!! When Adele came out,Never did I know it was possible to cry and laugh at the same time. She has the raw talent of making you feel the exact emotions she sings about; it's what makes her the fantastic artist she is. She was soo down to earth and funny ! During each performance of every song she gave a little explanation behind the songs and you could tell which were harder for her to sing than others, due to the emotions it welled up. I have shivers up and down my spine. We left mesmerized and I cannot wait for her to return ! What a night !

    Glad I went

by Uniqueoutlook on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Thought she was as wonderful live as on CD. Loved her humour and that she talked alot to the audience. Would have loved the original venue better, but the arena (her first) worked out well for sound but would have liked being a little closer to the stage.

Adele was simply flawless; remarkable show!

by Kimberlee on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

I love love love Adele. She’s so talented and her music is beautiful. When I bought the tickets, May seemed so far away, I’d never been to a live performance and couldn’t wait! I have both albums and usually hear a song or 5 on my daily commute; since the show, I haven’t listened to anything else! She is so gifted, and accepted the audience's response so humbly; it was so refreshing. Grateful to have witness that, she seems like a truly lovely person… Come back soon Adele, it was an absolute pleasure making fresh memories with you in my hometown!!

    Flawless Adele

by iburn4u on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Adele did not disappoint on Wednesday night at the ACC. I have watched her grow as an artist since my first encounter at the tiny club Rivoli back in 2008 through Massey Hall the following year to the ACC this week. I am thrilled to see the rest of the world finally catch on to the powerhouse talent of this woman. The shy young girl with the quick wit and powerful voice, too shy to do an encore at the Rivoli has blossomed into a confident woman with a voice beyond compare, at ease with her audience while maintaining her unassuming humanity that we love. She is hysterical! Adele was in superb voice at the ACC, didn't miss a note and delivered her trademark ballads with great emotion. Her voice goes on and on, seemingly without effort. Just incredible. Beyond the terrific songs from 21, she thrilled us with a few from 19, opening with my favourite Hometown Glory. She did a wonderful cover of the Cure's Lovesong and saved the best, her cover of Dylan's Make You Feel My Love from 19, till the end. In both cases I prefer her covers to the originals and I remember both originals when they were first released. My only disappointment was the exclusion of He Won't Go from her setlist. One annoyance was the incessant flashing from point and shoot cameras especially young girls in front of me taking multiple photos of themselves and blinding those of us behind them. Somewhere I'm sure seizures were triggered in the venue. Turn off you flash folks. It only lights up the heads of the people in front of you, does NOT improve your photos of the artist and is incredibly annoying. I can't imagine how artists on stage stand it.

    Ridiculously talented!

by Rimom on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

This girl has some serious pipes! She's magnificent and remarkably humble. She connects with her audience and draws them in to her vulnerable world, showing you exactly where her haunting lyrics eminate. Worth every penny - if you get a chance to go - GO! To quote Adele from the show directly, "I fancy the fuck outta this girl!"

    Brilliant

by Carchicc on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Adele was Brilliant. unbelievable talent and a lot of GUTS - she should feel so proud to have gotten where she is - she is so humble with her achievements. I am positive she could have sold out the entire ACC. but the low key atmosphere that she prefers is best. Looking forward to a new album.

by BRed on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Adele is an amazing performer. I enjoyed every minute she was on stage. While you would think she couldn't possibly sound any better, she does live. I only wish she would have come out earlier.

    Adele was fabulous!

by BAmanda on 2011-05-20Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Great concert. I felt her singing live is better than listening to the CD. Best performances, "Set Fire to the Rain" and "Someone Like You." Toronto definitely loved Adele and showed that during a huge sing-a-long to "Someone Like You." Definitely will be attending when she comes back, perhaps she can do up the whole venue!
