Great show! remember your ear plugs! great venue, great seats, great view, awesome noise!
What a great day! We took a 10 yr old and two 7yr olds. Paid the extra for the 'best seats' and they really were!! First row of seating - the boys were in awe! Also paid the extra $5 a head for the Pit Party - an absolute must as the kids get a real sense of how massive these trucks really are. The motocross and 4-wheelers were there too and their drivers were shockingly amazing with the kids! Super friendly and let them sit on the bikes. Overall.. a MUST attend for any family. VERY Expensive day but could've been half the price if I sacrificed the seats (which I will next time.. it was fun once, but we can sit further back next time). *** PLEASE remember to bring proper ear muffs for little ones and at least ear plugs for all - its incredibly loud and I was shocked to see kids without.
We purchased these tickets for my son's 7th birthday. He was not disappointed. Monster jam was at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, ON. They kept the crowd occupied while we were waiting for the trucks and when they had to set up. There were a variety of 4 wheeler races and motocross stunts as well. We just wished it was a bigger venue, as they were a bit limited in some things and not a ton of cars to crush. There were also, only five monster trucks. We started off at the Pit Party before the show, and it is highly recommended! My son loved getting a close up view of all the trucks and getting pictures and autographs with the drivers. Overall, I would definitely go see them again! (and I'm female!)
I had awesome sits thanks to ticketmaster, pit party is the best!!!! you get to see the truck up close and get autographs, everything is way over priced tho!! I will so be there again next year!
First time taking my 3 boys and wife to this arena or a Jam, the price was fine as we paid for floor passes to get up to the machines, great buy for $5 extra each. Only 6 trucks on hand, 8 quads and 4 dirt bikes. The owners of all machines were very relaxed and fun to get pictures with plus the autographs!! cool fun! My concern was the time sitting around with no action and the short run time. It seemed to take forever to get it going, and once it did, simple "high jumps" by the trucks seemed a bit lame and slow, 5 seconds is all it took to do such jumps. The track is very short and small so that would be the governing factor of the trucks, but I think a bigger arena is a must for the Monster trucks, the quads and motorbikes had their turn and moved around with lots of action and thrills. Stadium personnel were friendly and helpful, the crowd was excited and seemed to enjoy it for the most part. $25 for 5 hot dogs and a drink is certainly a fair price. Parking was also easy to find even with the underground closed. Will return for other events, but not a Monster truck show.
there was only 5 trucks, but then again, copps is so small there wouldnt be room for more. the trucks cant really get going b4 slammin on the brakes. its a good show for the kids, as an adult, its just ok. i think the dirt bikes made the show!
Very disappointed in Monster Jam show. There was no showmanship at all by Grave Digger. Usually when this truck enters the arena there is a build up for his entrance, such as dimming the lights and play AC DC, instead the trucks just drove out and started around the arena. Also when the trucks were competing Grave digger did not do any stunts or spin outs and for the first time lost the competition. My son was very disappointed right from the start. We have gone to many of these shows and by far this was the worse one. We will not be going to these shows any longer.
I was pretty disappointed with the whole experience in general. The tickets were pricey, the parking was expensive, and the show had more talking in it than anything. I did not pay money to see the stupid quad races or the freestyle jumpers (they were actually good), I paid to see monter trucks and that's what my kids expected. We did not expect only 4 trucks to go over the same cars for brief periods..this did not need to be 2 hours long. The show was not what the commercials play it up to be..and I know Copps is a small arena, but if it can't be done right, don't bother. I will not pay for this event next year.
Considering the size of the arena it is always amazing to see what these trucks can accomplish in such a tight space. The event was entertaining and the freestyle motorcross was awesome.
Monster Jam was AWESOME!! (For the adults and children both.) It was a great family outing that we all enjoyed.
I would have to say over all it was a great show, the main reason I went was for my 5 year old son, and he had a blast. I would recomend the show to anyone of all ages.
My son and I went and had a great time. The freestyle motorcross was the best.
the event was great , but our seats were awful the bar in front of us made it difficult to see and with my little boy was even harder for him.The dirt bikes were exceptionally great, wanted to see blue thunder, but he was not there, but the other ones made up for it. Was great, seen before and would see it again
My husband and 2 boys age 9 and 5 went. They loved it but.....my poor 5 year old just couldn't handle the sound. Unfortunately, all the headphones were sold out. They were back home within the hour... May try again - with headphones!
I've seen Monster Jam in both Toronto and Hamilton. Bottom line, it sucks in Hamilton. They save all of the big tricks and more trucks for the larger Toronto show. Plus the course is larger and more impressive in Toronto too. The drivers seemed to play it safe in order to save their trucks for the bigger show in Toronto. The only upside to the Hamilton show was that since the venue is smaller, you feel a little closer to the trucks. But that pales in comparison to the better action of Toronto.
The Monster Jam event was awesome. I have seen the monster trucks before but it was the first time for my two daughters...they loved it!!!! We had a great family day and would go again :)
Saturday's show was quite anti-climactic. Last year there were many more motorcyclists where this year there were only three. One of the drivers did tricks on only half the jumps he performed. The monster trucks were tame this year and there didn't appear to be as many stunts or races. There was only one spin performed by Spiderman - causing him to burn out and get towed away. After that, it was boring... even grave digger didn't really do much. The finale was very lame and we didn't realize it was the finale until the announcer said so! After seeing this show twice at Copps, we have decided that we're going to try and see the show in Toronto where there's more room for the trucks to truly perform.
We did the Pit Party and it was awesome to meet the drivers....it added something special when they were 'racing'. It was a great event for adults and kids alike. The mixture of Monster Trucks, quads and motor bikes was great. What are you waiting for go and see the Monster Jam today!!!!!!!!!!!
The venue was very small, nothing like you would see televised. The monster trucks have very quick “sprint” races apx 5 seconds in length. The freestyle event was identical to the races. The overall show was fun, this included the Quad racing and Motocross show. Bottom line, if you want to really experience monster trucks in action make sure the venue is large.
3 adults and 3 kids went to the Monster Truck Jam on Sat and because we went to the opening show on the Saturday. We believe that no trucks were destroyed from roll overs because they had another show on Sunday. also becaue it is expensive. Everyone likes to see trucks roll over and bodies being destroyed ! Hardly anyone of the drivers did donuts as my little one noticed that, and for a small kid to notice hardly any donuts is something noticeable. There seemed to be dead air with the commentator. But overall the kids loved it. I would go again as this is the 4th one I have been to.
