About
In just three years, Dutch DJ-producer Afrojack has gone from virtual unknown to one of the biggest and best electronic dance music producers in the game. He continued to prove himself in 2013 with a grueling tour schedule that has taken him across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, including top billing at major festivals like UMF and Tomorrowland. On his recent The Spark tour, he shared a ticket with some of the most influential EDM artists out there, including Shermanology, Leroy Styles, Bobby Burns and Apster. Afrojack concerts are intense experiences, with music often lasting throughout the entire night. He plays originals, such as "Rock The House," which topped out the Beatport chart in just three days (one of the fastest rises ever) and "As Your Friend," featuring Chris Brown. Also included are some remixes ultra-popular songs like Madonna’s "Revolver," which earned him his first Grammy, and Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball,” which brings his music to a whole new crowd.
The ascent to stardom has amazingly happened quite quickly for Afrojack. In 2010, the then-23-year-old producer landed the No. 19 spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs (the highest opener that year), then followed it up with top-10 spots the next three years running. His track "Take Over Control" became a worldwide hit and went platinum in the US, and he has earned two Grammy Awards and a European Border Breakers Award along the way -- the hits just keep on churning. The Spark and his "Wrecking Ball" remix are still lighting up dance floors around the world, and a full-length album is expected soon, along with a whole lot more remixes, more touring and surely more success.

by alexis1220 on 2014-09-02Shaw Conference Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5I very much so enjoyed this event. I can not wait to have them come back to Edmonton. I am always glad to see new artists that have never come to Edmonton before so thank you for bringing new artists. Keep it coming!

great show, the half i saw anyway
by AJFK on 2014-09-01Shaw Conference Centre - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5Show was fantastic, afrojack, martin garrix and the last half of deorro was amazing. However the lines were just stupid long to get in. Waited in line for 1.5 hours. Missed an artist and the first half of deorro. Their needs to be a way more efficient way to get into the shaw center
