Fantastic presentation and the story line was great. Highly recommended.
The cast and musicians were extremely talented. The musical numbers were excellent, especially the brilliantly choreographed segment which wove the narrative with “Papa was a Rolling Stone”. Overall, there were issues with sound distortion and unevenness of narrative.
Wonderful performers with super high energy and excellent voices. The story of the Temptations was sad at times but interesting nonetheless. Great sets, costumes and staging. Highly recommended.
Singing, dancing and a great story. Loved it. Cast was wonderful, every single one of them talent off the chart. Had good seats. New Year's Eve show was what I needed too make my up my outlook for 2024 clear. Growing up with that erea of music made the story real.
Loved the show…very informative but would have enjoyed more hits being sung and less of the story being told.
Ain’t Too Proud is one of the best shows that I have seen at the NAC. The music of the Temptations, the singing, the story and the amazing dancing made New Year’ s Eve one of our best ever. Thank you Broadway Across Canada for bringing such a professional ensemble to Ottawa.
Tickets to the show were a Christmas gift to my wife. Luckily I got to go along with her. From start to finish the show didn’t disappoint. High energy in the song and dance numbers. Performance was very enjoyable and a tribute to the cast of the show.
All the actors and actresses were amazing. The musicians were excellent and the set design was perfect. A really enjoyable show.
I was anticipating an evening of Temptation songs that sounded very close to the originals. In my opinion in most cases the vocals were too far from the originals to really relate to and enjoy - I have been to tribute groups who sounded more like the originals and paid a lot less to hear a better performance. The story was ok at best.
I could not think of how this show could have been any more amazing. Incredible voices. Gorgeous.
Great songs, great view into their lives behind the scenes. Best group ever!!!
Of course the singing was fantastic but the dancing really added to the show. I loved the telling of the history of The Temptations. Many facts were new to me. The scene changes were seamless. Brought me so much joy! Excellent performance! Thanks!
The storytelling of the Life & Times of the Temptations gave me a solid storyline to follow and great understanding of the history. I've always loved the Temptations but never really knew the backstory. My parents introduced us, we grew up listening to them, and I shared the music with our children. We loved watching the props slide in and out, the group turn to the side of the stage while Otis continued with the story. Kudos to the actors who continued with the songs/dancing as he spoke. Just brilliant! We teared when sadness struck during Martin Luther King days but laughed & smiled throughout. We enjoyed our Christmas date night. Bravo on continued success!!!!
This was one of the best shows I've seen at the NAC. All 4 of us who attended thought the same thing. Plus you adjusted the sound level so that we could understand what the actors were actually saying. The sound level of the last 2 shows I attended was so loud we could not understand what the actors were saying. This show rates up there with some of my other favorites. Thank you for a lovely evening.
The actors are soooo exceptionally talented. From songs to choreography...it simply put.... IT WAS JUST AMAZING! What a great few hours spent of our lives! We sang all the way home!!! Cheers
Uplifting, fun, wonderful live music!! A true must see!
The music, choreography, and the story telling was exceptional, although often times sting with sadness through the story the music would then take me back to a time when my friends and I would sit and listen to the temptations and just be in awe of the amazing vocals harmonies of the group, my favourite was the bass, the showmanship of David Ruffin and Eddie Kendrick. How we would laugh at a friend who thought he could hit the falsetto and fail miserably. The actors truly did justice not only with the music but the story of their lives, which I don’t believe many in the theatre knew about, except they made amazing music. Highly recommended!!
The concert Ain’t too Proud, the dancing and singing was excellent. However the dialogue was difficult to understand and there was a lot of dialogue, so for me the concert was spoilt.
A great show that was fun, uplifting. and toe-tapping.
Right from the opening, the show had so much energy. The actors had great voices that blended into smooth harmonies and all the while performing synchronized dance moves. It was hard to stay still in our seats! We loved it! Just the thing on a cool winter night.
