About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

The concert was a smashing success, even with the snowy weather. Allan did a perfect performance, George has to turn the volume of his band down a bit, they were loader than him at times and was hard to hear him, but otherwise very good also.

The sound in the Brandt center was AWESOME! George was GREAT but did not sing nearly long enough. Alan was GREAT as well.

Hi ALAN JACKSON was not great at all.. I LOVED GEORGE CANYON though, HE came to both sides of the stage to see the crowd, wave to the crowd. ALAN JACKSON DID NOT. He just stayed to the main center of stage and chose to go on one side of the stage, avoided my side the whole damn night. He would not crack a smile at no one. He did not talk much, just played his songs and that was it.. .walked off the stage...DONE the concert. I had front row side lower level seats, NEVER AGAIN AM I GOING TO ALAN JACKSON. I was very disappointed with him and his performance.......

There is no such thing as a bad Alan Jackson show.

  • Alan put on a great show!!!!

The thing I liked the most was he introduced himself and also the members of his band and where they were from. Not everybody knows that. The last show we were at the entertainer didn't do that. The lighting with some of the songs was amazing!!! The sound could have been turned down a knotch!!! He played for his audience!!!!!

Overall I really enjoyed the show. It was not to loud, you could here all the harmonies, and the musicianship was very good. The only concern I had was it appeared to me that maybe Alan Jackson was a little under the weather or needed a couple of days off. He still performed great though. It could have been longer than an hour and 20 mins though. The crowd could have had something to do with it as to me all Saskatoon crowds are too mellow.

  • Just what we expected

I was very disappointed that Allen did not even mention or thank George Canyon, who did a remarkable job, even though George mentioned Allen many, many times

This was the first time seeing Alan and it was great. I loved that they took the time to get shots of Saskatoon and incorporated them into their show. The pictures of his family on the big screens was a nice personal touch as well. Sorry for all the folks that missed the show because of the winter storm.

  • Alan Jackson "Amazing"

He is very proffessional, I love how he is so family oriented and it came shinning through in every performance...I also love how he put Red Deer video in his song "Where I Come From" That was very nice, makes you feel special. He sounded great, like you were listening to a CD............I can't say enough about him, he just seems like the real deal, so genuine Thank You Alan Jackson for a memorable night

THE ALAN JACKSON SHOW WAS WONDERFUL, MUCH BETTER THAN WHEN HE WAS HERE WITH BROOKS & DUNN. HE IS MARVELLOUS. THE ONLY PROBLEM i HAD WAS THE BEER THAT WAS SLOPPED ALL OVER THE FLOORS & THE LANGUAGE FROM THE CUSTOMERS OUT IN THE LOBBY BEFORE & AFTER THE SHOW. GEORGE CANYON WAS GOOD AS WELL & WE ENJOYED HIS PERFORMANCE.

  • Alan Jackson...good show but he has done better!

    by TIKI69 on 2010-01-25Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

Alan Jackson played a good show with his usual hits. I have seen Alan before but my girlfriend thought it was a little lacking. He sounded good, familiar songs,a little over an hour on stage, and only one song encore.Don't get me wrong,Alan was good but George Canyon put on a better show.I would be hard pressed to spend another $100 to see this show again.Sorry Mr. Jackson!!!

  • Excellent

We enjoyed the concert. Allan and George both put on an excellent show. The seats were great and we had no problems seeing any part of the show. I appreciated the fact that the intermission between shows was timely.

  • allan jackson was amazing

the concert was unforgettable. George Canyon started the evening off with some of his great hits and it sounded the same as his cds. Allan Jackson came on and played nonstop for 1 hour and 20 minutes. He also has an unforgettable voice and was great to see in person.

Alan Jackson put on a good solid performance could have been a little longer set he has so many hits that you don't get to hear them all good solid backup band all the things you would expect from a country entertainer of Alan's stature

My husband does a wonderful 30 min. power point recap our family memories for the year at Christmas and "Remember" has been one of the theme songs since it came out. The concert was like sitting at home with an old friend. Loved it!!!

  • Excellent show.

Every time I see Alan and I’m thoroughly amazed at his performance....he is a true entertainer!!! . That’s all he has to do is open his mouth and the words just flow out… there is no screaming no over exaggeration on phoniness…no melodrama just perfect singing to me that is what country and singing is all about; he is a true artists!!! George has not reached his peak yet but it will happen!!
