About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

  • AJ Played to a Dead Crowd in Regina

by Marns on 2010-01-25Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 2 out of 5

Alan Jackson cut big songs in half and cut out of the Brandt Center early on Saturday night, partly due to the fact that half the crowd was dead at the concert. It's been a very long time since I've seen such a lethargic crowd of people, even at a country music show. Getting people out of their seats was like asking them to volunteer for lyposuction. If I were Alan Jackson, I would've made an early exit too. Leaving a parking lot at 10 p.m. from a show that started after 8 p.m. was embarrassing for me. I thought Alan Jackso played some great songs, two of my favorites back-to-back, but I thought that he himself could've done a bit more to get the crowd motivated to party. All-in-all, I was more disappointed with our fans than with Alan Jackson himself.

  • Alan Jackson was predictably great

Alan Jackson is a country music icon, & for good reason... His collection of hits fills a great show. Even his "newer" stuff (from the latest album) is popular enough that you come away feeling like you just heard a greatest hits compilation. Overall... 100% full value... A great show from both performers.

George opening was great - he could have sang longer, The break was a little long in between. Alan has a beautiful voice , i wish we were closer!!

If you saw Alan in 2008 on tour, this was a similar show but with a different set list. Great show. Alan was a true pro, as always. The sound was great and the stage show has something for everyone (big screens, videos, etc). Too bad it was only 75 minutes long. George Canyon opened with a short 35 minute set. He is terrific; I hope he headlines his own tour in the near future.

  • Alan was fantastic!

I absolutely loved the concert - Alan was bang on each and every song! If I hadn't seen him standing there singing the songs, it could have easily been the recorded version. The music, the singing - both were flawless. I only wish he would have played a little longer - his time on stage was a little short.

I thought it was an awesome show, the sound was great the band was top notch. And the man, Alan was as entertaining as always. He has the best songs out there, after all he is just a simple man singing simple songs.

  • Excellent!

This was one of the best concerts I have been to. Both George & Alan put on a great show. The sound was great & it didn't hurt to have good seats also! They both played all the songs I wanted to hear.

  • Alan Jackson & George Canyon - OUTSTANDING !!

    by Draig2008 on 2010-01-25Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 5 out of 5

What a great concert !! Alan Jackson & George Canyon are both phenomenol entertainers. The crowd was right into it as well. First time I have ever seen an opening act receive a standing ovation. This was my third time seeing Alan Jackson and probably the best !!

  • Both were fabulous

Concert was great. Both performers were wonderful. Amazing sound. Only TCU place moved our seats and the seats I bought initially were much better.

  • George/Alan - What a show!

    by 12589 on 2010-01-25Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great. I do not think that they was any need for a break of 1 hour between shows. Congratulations to both for enduring our weather and travelling to put on such a great show. George Canyon sang many of my favorites, I could have listened to him longer. Alan is a classic from the moment that he walked on stage, the crowd was revved.

Awesome concert!! Alan was great, and so was George Canyon. Well worth travelling the awful roads to get there & back!

  • Good concert

It was great to see Alan Jackson in concert. He seems to be a very down to earth kind of guy that everyone would like. He played alot of his #1 hits which was great. The only thing I wish he would do more of is walk around the stage so people from all sides of the arena or stage could see him a bit closer. He just stood in the center of the stage for the night and I was a little disappointed in that since I love his music so much. IOver all I would go see him again.

Awesome concert however it was too short, an artist of his caliber should play at least an hour and a half to 2 hours. The concert was only 1 hour and 10 min. Even though it was too short I still enjoyed it very much.

Very good show. Played all of my favorites. George Canyon was great also

  • by Anonymous on 2010-01-25Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

George Canyon was very good. It seemed like he really wanted to entertain the crowd. Alan Jackson is getting long in the tooth. He basically did the same show that he always does. Only one encore song, give me a break. Seemed like he was just going through the motions.

  • alan jackson was too short!

by Anonymous on 2010-01-25Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 3 out of 5

should of been longer!!!! way to short of a program.......

  • What I expected

Lots of hits... Sounded great, but could"ve been a little more entertaining on stage.

First time I ever saw Alan Jackson in concert and he didn't disappoint! Played lots of the old favs and created a warm feeling with the audience.
