About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

Alan Jackson concert was an example of perfection, expertise and professionalism. His backup band very experienced as well which made for a great performance.

  • AJ was disappointing

by backstageman on 2010-01-24Brandt Centre - ReginaRating: 1 out of 5

George Canyon opened for 35 pretty entertaining minutes, but about 10 minutes too long. Then it took almost 50 minutes to set up for Alan Jackson...way too long. And then, although the crowd was ready to follow him anywhere, Jackson only played for about 65 minutes, including a one song encore. The crowd responded enthusiastically most of the time, but everybody seemed stunned by AJ's fast departure from the stage. The music was well performed, but except for a couple of tunes, at no time did it get anywhere near a magical musical moment. All in all, just not worth the time or money. Too bad; AJ got me and my wife into country music but he didn't seem into it himself last night. At a third the price, it might have been okay...

  • Alan Jackson was amazing!

The concert started right on time at 7:30. However, the intermission after George Canyon was 45 minutes, which was a bit long. They had everything set up for Alan Jackson in the first 30 minutes, so the break seemed longer than necessary. Alan Jackson was unforgettable. He played his hit songs for an hour and 15 minutes. It was wonderful to see him perform them live. He talked a little about the tour and some of the songs but most of the time he sang. Their use of the projection screens was very creative.

  • Just great...

  • Alan Jackson..the Hits Kept Coming!

by Diggstown on 2010-01-24Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 4 out of 5

Although not a flashy entertainer Alan Jackson has so many great songs and he rattled through most of them. First time seeing him in concert and it was excellent, I recommend to any country fan. George Canyon as an opener was great as well, they both kept the crowd going.

  • Jackson & Canyon - Great Mix

by jivebunny on 2010-01-24Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 5 out of 5

The performers were superb. The facility and acoustics did not do them justice. I'm so glad they decided to make Regina one of their stops. The Regina tribute at the end of the concert was a thoughtful touch.

  • Awesome

Alan Jackson is terrific. His presentation super. You can definately tell the songs he sings are his, by his expression and dedication. When singing he shows a lot of feeling in his facial expressions and in the words of the song he is singing. All the words were very clear and understood without a problem. Alan sure gets the crowd motivated with the mix of peppy turns, as well as the slower ones. We saw him at the Craven Country Jamboree and would definately attend more events in the future. We like taking our 11 year old grand daughter, since she likes all Alans songs and seems to know all the words. She sang along with every song. Our age span is a testament as to the variety of people he has touched with his music. When looking around there were people even younger and also older, so that in itself should indicate how well versed the public is about Alan and his craft.. As indicated before if given the opportunity we would attend more events he puts on in the future....he is the greatest. Thank you so much

He is a great singer. Not much of a performer. He didn't really talk to the crowd, but then again, we didn't pay $100 to watch him talk. He sang a lot of songs, but it was a little short, for the money paid. He was only about 1 hour, 15 min. I'm sure he had a lot more songs. For his encore, of 1 song, he did a great video show of Regina and got the fans really involved. I would have liked to have seen a few more songs after that 1st encore especially since he got the crowd so reved up with the video! But overall, he was great.

Sound was good, not too loud. He could have played longer. Played for about 1 hr, lots of songs we never heard. Really engaged the crowd. Great band.

My seat was on the floor 17 rows back, so it was a fabulous location and the sound was great there. The choice of music was fabulous. The big screens , especially the large screen on the stage helped make the event life like! The energy coming from the stage and performers was contagious and it all helped to make the performance incredible. I would have liked him to perform longer. I was disappointed that the performance was so short. The encore was only 1 song, which in my experience usually is 3 songs. That was disappointing as well. A great performance of Alan Jackson and I am glad I attended. George Canyon's performance set the mood for the main event. He was excellent as well. Great evening!!

The entire show from start to finish was great. George shouldn't be forgotten. He was amazing. Alan, was personable in his performance, one felt like he could be your next door neighbor great voice and bands on both were excellent. Music and singing were great. Enjoyed the fiddle.

My husband and I had not been out on a date for months. We bought the tickets last minute and they weren't great seats but the music was the best! We have loved Allan Jackson for years and this was the first time we have ever seen him live. If he ever comes back to Regina , we will buy our tickets the second they go on sale!

  • Allan Jackson was short on time!!!

    by Marmster1 on 2010-01-24Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 4 out of 5

Great concert! However, having been one of the cities that had an original show cancelled in 2009, this Reginian and her husband felt Allan Jackson shoulda played a few more songs after the encore.....not JUST 1..........that's right just 1 encore song!
