About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

  • Alan Jackson excellent, but too short

by bcgracie on 2010-01-24Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was excellent for what he did, but it was way too short. He only played for about an hour, then did one song for his encore. We, and many others whose comments I heard around me, were quite disappointed. It's not like the man would run out of songs. He has so many great ones ond this seemed like a teaser. We thought he would do at least 3 songs for his encore. Also, too long between George Canyon and Alan Jackson - 45 mins.

  • Alan Jackson & George Cannon were fantastic

by Hotmom on 2010-01-24Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 5 out of 5

I was so amazed how great they both sounded. It felt like they were singing just for me. The best thing was when AJ sang "where I come from" he had a video of clips from Regina & Sasks proudest things ie. Rider stuff and RCMP. Very cool.

  • Alan Jackson was Awesome!!

The show was great! George Canyon was a great opener, and Alan Jackson put on an awesome show. It's too bad there wasn't a catwalk as part of the stage, though, so that he could make his way out a bit into the crowd. Overall, great performance by both singers!

  • Great show!

I had seen Alan Jackson before and he always puts on great shows. All of his songs are great, and all the songs played were hits. I like the family photos in the background during some of the songs. George Canyon was also great. I love his deep voice. I would go back tonight!

  • Amazing voice

Alan Jackson doesn't have to put on the big show, just his voice and his songs gets everyone up and singing. His songs are genuine and from the heart and touch everyone in the audience. He played for 1.15 hrs. George Canyon was also a great opener.

Jackson was amazing.....a humble man who made the audience feel like he was truly happy to be here..... his dialogue warmed the hearts of the crowd especially with the mention of "Regina" several times.

This was an excellent show. I was very happy when I got there and found out George Canyon was his opening act. He was fantastic. He could do his own show just himself. Alan was amazing as always. Have seen him in the past and he never disappoints. He really is, as his song says, a "Country Boy." There were a few songs I was really wishing he would have played (Sissy's Song), but with so many awesome songs to choose from, how do y ou decide. He could have easily played for hours (wishful thinking). For anyone who has never seen him, do go. You will not be sorry.

  • Outstanding music . . . just not enough of it!

by WineLover on 2010-01-24Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - ReginaRating: 4 out of 5

Both George Canyon and Alan Jackson gave great performances and I am so glad I was there. BUT, I can't help but feel that for the hundred bucks I paid for the ticket there should have been more music. George Canyon played 35 minutes and Alan Jackson for 75 . . . .that is less than 2 hours of concert time. I go to a lot of concerts (at least a dozen every year) and can't help but feel the artists playing so short a time are doing the fans a disservice.

  • Great Performer

The show was amazing! It was simple-no fancy gimmicks, just great country music! George Canyon was great.....wished he would have played longer.

I really enjoyed George Canyon and Alan Jackson! My first time seeing Alan was in the centrium a long time ago - he just gets better with age. Had a great time and can't wait to see him again.

Alan Jackson was excellent as expected......excellent sound......The ladies in our group were very disappointed he didn't sing Sissy's Song. George Canyon very good........but the sound was very bassy. Don't know if they share the same sound man..................But if they don't...............he should take lessons from Alan's sound man.

  • who doesn't love AJ!!!!!!!

He's sooo NICE and good to look at, not the most lively performer, but who cares.

  • Alan Jackson is my favorite country artist.

by Bren on 2010-01-23Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish I was so excited. I love all of Alan's songs and have enjoyed listening to him for years. Seeing him live whenever I get a chance makes it even more special. He really seemed to interact more with the crowd last night and I got to meet and greet with Alan as well which was very exciting. I could have listened to him sing all night long.

  • One of the Best shows I seen!!!!

by FOOT on 2010-01-23Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 5 out of 5

Alan sang each hit song just like he did on his albums. He sounded fantastic and he looks as great too!! The only thing was his encore, he got carried away signing autographs instead of finishing the song but I still love him :)

    by 444fan on 2010-01-23Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 4 out of 5

The whole concert was very loud... So loud with George Canyon that we couldn`t tell what song he was singing nor make out what he said in any narrative and the whole thing is just noise. Allan was great although a little less volume would have made his presentation much more enjoyable it was noticably lower in sound that Canyon but still very hard to hear the songs clearly. Maybe the tech people need to get up in the stands to hear what happens when they crank it up so loud. If you want to charge that kind of money the concert should be enjoyable in every seat in the house.

What an awesome concert! The best I have seen in Red Deer in a long time. George Canyon has quite a stage presence and Alan Jackson had a real connection with the audience the whole night. He played one hit after another, everything I wanted to hear. What a gracious entertainer. During his encore he took a long time to signe autographs. Truly a classy guy and so talented. Well worth the money and I would see him again anytime

As always his authenticity blows me away. It's a simple show but great performance from an amazing singer songwriter.
