About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

The concert was a good one even though for the price of the tickets I was a little dissapointed. I felt for the 90.00 we paid it could have been a bit longer. George only sang for 30 minutes but was a good proformance in the short time we saw him. Allan is on of my favorite country music singers and I enjoyed him very much. I wish he would have sung the last song in whole but commend him and doing autographs for people on the floor. It would have been great to have got to hear more of his songs. I feel that an hour long concert should not be worth the same money as one that last for 2. Have went to lots of concerts and this one was one of the shortest i have been too.

This was a very good show. A nice touch was the video of Red Deer at the end of the show when Alan Jackson sang Where I come from. We were lucky enough to have floor seating with a space in front of us big enough to get up and dance. Alan Jackson made us feel that he was singing right to us about our events of the day. His band was very talented and added to the mood.

  • Alan Jackson was awesome!!

Nice to see this level of entertainer coming to Red Deer! Nice mixture of songs. Too bad the drunks had to show up. If they want to drink they should stay home and not ruin the show for the others by standing up in front of them and bumping into them. Like Alan Jackson could see you holding up your glass!! Nice to have George Canyon opening, he is a great entertainer as well.

Allan's performance was absolutely fabulous. The most enjoyable performance we have seen in a long time. He truly is an absolute super star.

The boys were amazing and never ceased to please. It was great seeing them in the smaller venue in Red Deer as opposed to the Saddledome in Calgary.

Both George Canyon and Alan Jackson were amazing. They are two of my favorite artists. George Canyon could have been on longer. The only negative thing was the length of the intermission in between the shows....what took so long?

  • George Canyon/Allan Jackson

    by OldGuy7 on 2010-01-23Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 5 out of 5

Allan Jackson was very good as expected, nhe certainly delieved good value with the number of songs he sang with very little time between each song. George Canyon far exceeded any expections I had. in my opinion he was extremely good with the fans and had the whole house standing to sing along.

I thought the concert overall was good. The Bass on George Canyon was turned up to loud for most of his show. We were disappointed in that cause we really like George Canyon. Alan Jackson was AMAZING !!! I have never seen him live and I would totally go back again. He is so relaxed on stage and sings great ! When the concert was over my husband and I thought it was to short. It was done by 10:00. :-( I hope they both will come back again. I would definatly go again !

Teh concert was awesome. I wish george Canyon could have sung more. This is talent that needs to be expoded to country fans all over the world. I was happy to see that alan Jackson has nt lost his touch for singing, however he did look very tired and Only seem to get into things at the end of the concert.

  • AJ was awesome

by RDlonesomedove on 2010-01-23Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 5 out of 5

very good concert. I had great seats right close to the stage. Having the overhead screens was really good to see the video playing for each song. Alan spend some time at the end of the concert signing shirts, auto's which was nice to see, a lot of musicians dont do this anymore.

  • by Thel on 2010-01-23Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 5 out of 5

I have always been a BIG fan of AJ...I love the man.... I am a senior, so he can take that any way he wants............hahaha . His show was totally fantastic, and I am impressed with the way he "handles" himself. Nice idea to have the videos, too. It was great of him, and his crew to come back to Red Deer; I doubt that its easy to play to a smaller venue. What does he think of Alberta? Snow? I'd love, someday to just sit down with him and have a coffee (or beer if he'd prefer) , just one on one visit. If I am close enough, I will certainly attend another concert.....like I said....I Love the MAN!

  • Fantastic!!

I think it was a fantastic show....however I think Alan Jackson could have played longer. There was alot of his music I was hoping to hear, but didn't. Overall... I think it was a fantastic show and would recommend it to others!

  • Still Smooth!

Alan Jackson will always be one of the best Country singers around. His smooth voice could melt any gals heart. Excellent concert but was disappointed by the encore.

The concert last night was amazing. It was hard to know what Alan Jackson was going to play because of his number of songs. But it was awesome! George Canyon was really fun too...and hot lol
