About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

  • Alan Jackson was amazing!!!!!

by LiviJ on 2009-11-19Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5

We were row 18 (seats 5-8) on the floor. Pretty good view. The music was incredible. I am not about the glitz and glamour, for me it is more about the music and it was incredible. I can't believe how many times I had goose bumps listening to George Canyon and Alan Jackson.

George Canyon and Alan Jackson were amazing. It was a little sad that George Canyon only played for half an hour, I could have listened to him for hours. There was a half an hour between sets, which I didn't see how that was necessary since it only took about 15 mins to change over the stage. I loved the old songs that he played, the video screens, the talking he did with the crowd. "Where I come from" played video taken that day of places around town, so cool to know he actually spent time driving around our town. (if not him then his crew)

The show was great. It would of been nice to have George Canyon on longer. The intermission between performers was way too long.

The concert was incredible, George Canyon was amazing as the opener, wish he would have sang a bit longer. Alan Jackson, goes without saying how impressive he is, and he sang all of the song he is known well for which makes the concert more enjoyable if you know the song as well. Over all a great great time, great artists and great talent.

It was amazing to see Alan Jackson. His stage presence is incredible. George Canyon did a great job of opening the show. The fact that Alan Jackson's publicity people included scenes from Prince George in his videos on stage was certainly a nice touch. I would certainly recommend going to Alan's concerts. I really enjoyed it.

put on a great show, into the crowd, seemed very thankful to be where he is, a few too many slow songs but the vibe was still good!

  • Alan Jackson concert awesome!

by Adeline on 2009-11-18Prince George CN Centre - Prince GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

Unfortunately, due to poor road conditions, we were unable to get to the concert in time to see George Canyon perform. However, we did get there in time to see Alan Jackson perform and it was more than a pleasure to hear him sing. The sound system is excellent. The seating was very well organized, although I would have loved to be nearer the stage, but that's my poor timing in booking the seats. What really made the whole concert enjoyable was watching the local footage being played as he sang his song, "My Home Town". It really showed he cared for his audience by personalizing his music, which really reinforced my belief that he is a great entertainer. I really hope Alan Jackson appears in Prince George again. It is so much easier to get to a concert in Prince George as it's cheaper to drive there than to fly to Vancouver. I look forward to attending more of these concerts in Prince George.

  • Alan was outstanding!

by AlansFan on 2009-11-17Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 5 out of 5

We were so thrilled to see the seats that we purchased online through Ticketmaster. They were ideal!!! We were so close to the stage, close to the beer gardens, and close to the bathrooms! I brought a set of binnoculars but didn't even need to use them! Alan Jackson was outstanding! He is genuine country and is so polished. He delivered a top notch performance with such ease. His voice and his band were flawless. He's a very humble, down home kind of guy that is personable and communicated well with the audience. It was wonderful how the camera crew took the time to take some video shots around Kamloops to show during Alan's song, "Where I Come From."

Alan just goes to show you that talent goes much further than a smokeshow and fireworks to get the crown to enjoy.

Allan Jackson's songs are simply beautiful - every one of them! He puts on a first class show and you can't help but fall in love with him- he's just a good old country boy!

I enjoyed hearing all his top songs, from In the Real World to It's Five A Clock Somewhere. The music was not so loud that you hear it properly, I could hear his voice when he sang. My husband and I very much enjoyed the concert. I still can not believe he was really here, I did not think a singer as famous as him, would ever be in Prince George, BC. I hope to see him in concert again, in the future.

Great show - played a lot of his greatest hits - which everyone knew and could sing along. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

i had a great time at alan's concert last night - we had floor tickets and had no problem seeing alan and the opening act, except for the inconsiderate people sitting in front of us. Alan was an amazing performer, and so was his opening act - George Canyon. I would definately be going to either of these performances again!
