About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

  • Alan Jackson knows how to play to a small venue.

by Fugs on 2009-11-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince GeorgeRating: 3 out of 5

Our CN centre was packed, but our crowd was "as typical of Prince George" somewhat researved. This may have contributed to the bare minimal performance by Jackson who played for 75 minutes.

  • Alan and George concert

by ExCaliber on 2009-11-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince GeorgeRating: 4 out of 5

I Thought Alan Jackson was very good, he's very sincere and a real family man as his videos show. I thought it was great that he took such great footage of our Prince George town restaurants and emergency facilities, etc, and put them into a video for us to view, as well as a lot of crowd shots. Haven't ever seen that with any other artists who have come to town. That would be great to be able to get a copy of it from him for your station and have it run on cable ten once in a while for others to see. It would also promote what a great and appreciative star he is. I just find the concerts are getting shorter and shorter these days. Is that because of the cost? He only played for 1hr and 15mins and they used to be 2hrs, then 1 1/2hrs, now this. George Canyon was very good also, glad the audience appreciated him lots too.

  • Alan Jackson great entertainment

I was impressed with the wide range of ages of people attending the concert. There were teenagers, middleagers and senior citizens all thoroughly enjoying the concert. Alan Jackson and George Canyon are down home country entertainment.

Simply fantastic. We had so much fun, and we will never forget the whole evening. The community video for "Where I Come From" was trully touching, and we thank Alan for that experience.

George Canyon was a good opening act. It was good to see Alan live. Kinda wished he did a few more songs though instead of throwing picks for a good part of the show.

  • Wow!

by BCLionsRoar on 2009-11-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

What an awesome show! Made even better by the way that Jackson connects with the audience. I won't say because it would spoil the surprise for Dawson Creek. Even more impressive is how humble Jackson is. Certainly not full of himself like some artists and seems genuinely appreciative of 'the people'. And don't forget his band -- they provide an awesome sound and are as much 'the show' as Alan is.

Al Jackson is an awsome singer, he has some great hits but as a performer I think he lacks character. He show no emotions or involvements with his fans.

  • Country SUperstar!

by JJanzen on 2009-11-17Prince George CN Centre - Prince GeorgeRating: 5 out of 5

Was the best concert I have ever been too! The fact that he can just walk around on stage and just sing - all the while still wowing the crowd is amazing.. It was a pleasure just to be in his presence - He truly is a country Icon!! We risked our lives on treacherous roads through a blinding snowstorm - traveling 4 hours in a blizzard - would do it again in a heartbeat!! This really is a must say event!

This was the best concert ever to hit a stage in PG, the opening act was great and the AJ concert was second to none. AJ's whole concert involves things that the entire audience can at sometime in there life relate to. Totaly amazing entertainer.

George Canyon was awesome, Alan Jackson was good but he sang too many slow ones in a row, it was a 45 min wait in between George and Allan? I thought he looked unwell.. he is still a great guy. The ending showing pictures around Kamloops was a saving touch...

  • Go see Jackson

Having George Canyon open for him was a great idea, he is an amazing artist. Alan himself is an incredible artist, and great performer.

This one one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. He is one of my favourite country artsists. I found it to be so rivetting and absolutely astounding. He does a great concert. The songs he played were of the very best in all of his albums. At the end when everyone started screaming and he came back to play Mercury was awesome. I also loved his opening act George Canyon, what a fabulous singer. We seen his video that he made at the Diamond Bar Ranch in Arizona while sight seeing in Las Vegas and he was a great choice for Alan to chose. Both very great country singers. I wish them all the best in their future albums and cannot wait to hear what they come up with next. Awesome concert done by two very of the greats!!!!

He took way too long to appear on stage after his stage was set up, it was if he did not wish to perform. The crowd was very displeased at this action and started stomping to get him to show up but he did not respond to the fans request.

  • AJ Still has it!

Alan Jackson can still entertain! We first saw him live about 8 years ago. His concert was great then and now, well what can I say, fantastic. If you get the chance to go see him, even if you're not country fans, go. You won't regret it.
