About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

  • Alan Jackson was On My Bucket List!

by dianeandrich on 2009-09-27Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

I have been trying to see Alan Jackson for nearly ten years and I can finally check him off my bucket list as of Friday Sept. 25th. He did not disappoint. Thank you Alan for a spectacular and at times very moving show. Your heartfelt songs and videos really touched me and judging by the full house, Canadians embrace you as one of our own country boys. I brought a picture of my 51 Ford Merc hoping you would sing Crazy Bout My Mercury and it was the last song and I attempted to get you to autograph that photo for me but couldn't get to the stage in time. That's alright though. I came away very satisfied with finally being able to catch your performance.

  • Alan Jackson no mystery

Alan Jackson is just like you would imagine him to be from the songs he sings: humble, shy, family man, honest . He sang non stop for the 90 minutes; one hit after another.

We drove from North Bay to Casino Rama specifically to see Alan Jackson in concert on Friday night and it was sooooo worth the 3 hr drive. Alan Jackson is a Country Super Star.....period. His music, songs, singing, voice are genuine and so heart felt. His songs make you want to get up and sing and dance or simply sit back, listen and enjoy. I loved every second of the concert, from the moment he walked on stage. Alan has a very peaceful, loving and modest "presence" that charmed the crowd all night long. It was my first time seeing him in concert and I would love to see him again, therefore, the next time he comes back to Casino Rama, I'll be going. Thank you for brining Alan Jackson to Casino Rama.

  • Not worth the drive

by coonie on 2009-09-27Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 3 out of 5

Nothing really exciting to report. Allan sang great but the entire show was 1 hour and 25mins...and yes that included 1/2 of an encore song. He spent the other half of the song signing autographs. The ticket prices were over priced for this event. My group spent $120.00 per ticket and didn't get anything for it. Overall, the concert was not worth the 4 hours it took to get to Rama.

by Karendz on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

My first time to see Allan Jackson, but not the last. He is amazing. I had heard that he didn't entertain much, only sang, but he spoke to the crowd at Casino Rama in his laid back, sexy way. He is charismatic and believable - a real person.

  • #1 Aaln Jackson fan

by kittygossip on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 4 out of 5

Alan Jackson is the best entertainer. He deals with his own personal life and values in most of his music , He puts on a fantastic show . I would have to wonder though how is works for ticktes. I met up with a few people that only paid $50.00 for their seats and was alot closer to the stage , where as i paid 120.00 and was on the very top M2 11-11

  • Alan Jackson was fantastic!!!

by Cynann on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

It has been my dream to see Alan Jackson. I have always listened to him since he started and I think he is the best country singer there is. Every time he been in Ontario the tickets are always sold out before I can get any so I was quite excited when I got them. The concert was very entertaining and nothing short of what I thought it would be.

  • Alan Jackson was fabulous

by KBPL on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. He played constantly for 1.25 hours without any major conversations to waste time. I loved the videos in the background, especially the ones shot in our local area. Nice touch.

  • Alan Jackson rocks!

by Krats on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 4 out of 5

This was the 3rd time I've seen Alan Jackson live and once again, he really pleased the crowd with his list of hits! He put on a great show that truly entertained the crowd. Although he's not much of a showman, he basically stands in one spot strumming his guitar the entire show, his powerful vocals and undeniably good sense of humour really steal the show! The sound was amazing - just like listening to a CD!

  • Alan Jackson's greatest hits!

by Herc on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 4 out of 5

Although late in ordering tickets we managed to get mezzanine tickets with an amazing view of the show. The sound was awesome and the video creative and inspirational. Jackson was in excellent voice and the backup musicians exceptional. The choice of repertoire was a mixture of old and new hits ,from the very nostalgic "Remember When " to the hand clappin', foot stompin "Itty -bitty". The encore was a little disappointing and I would have liked to have heard more dialogue from Mr. Jackson between songs.

only played 1.5 hours for $100 expected 2 hours. You were hand picked to go up front stage. Music was good. Disappointed didnt sign autographs wouldnt have been a mob scene we are canadians. He only focused on the front audience not the side audience.
