About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

I have been wanting to go see Allan Jackson, like forever.. Glad I went. I took my oldest daughter with me. she enjoyed it as well.. she remembers most of the songs from growing up.. His songs are so great, i listen to his music alot.. the sound at casino rama is so great I have been to many concerts there.. I would recomend anyone going there..

  • Alan was amazing !!!

    by Janny1174 on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

Alan was more than I expected ! His performance was real, upbeat and patriotic....I was very impressed with the fact that he sounded exactly like his CD"s. Many artists out there sound completely different when you go to see them live.....giving you a very different opinion on their performance ability. Alan on the other hand can belt out an amazing song without any music accompanimant and sound beyond BRILLIANT !! The family relative I took with me to his concert has never been much of a country fan until she heard Alan sing last night !! I look forward to the next time he visits Rama !

  • First Time Seeing Alan Jackson

by Butsy on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 4 out of 5

My husband is a real fan of Alan Jackson. I went along for the ride, but...I really enjoyed the concert and am now a fan!! Alan played non-stop for 1 1/2 hours and showed his appreciation for his Canadian fans. Great voice, great lyrics, great show!!

  • Great Concert by Alan Jackson!

by fineman on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

Like all concerts at Casino Rama it was too short. Alan compensated by rolling out one hit after another. While he didn't say a lot many of his songs are highly emotional reflections on family and roots...in that sense he shares a lot. Some of the best sound mixing...every instrument could be heard and you never missed a syllable of lyrics. As well as high energy, Alan has a high tech show with great video collages. He scored big with the Casino Rama audience with a video of local and Canadian icons...from Tim's to Country Style, Dollerama to the Legion Hall. Roars from the crowd for the Beer Store, LCBO and Canadian soldiers!

  • Good but not Great

    by BrownEyes1987 on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 4 out of 5

Alan Jackson was a great performer as always but to me he appeared to be tired last night and that showed through as he was going through the set. I found the set to be a little short and was a little disappointed by that given how much I paid for the seats. He came out for an encore and only played one song which was another disappointment. I wish he had played for just a little longer but what he did play was excellent and he has the unique ability of making the crowd feel hometown proud. Overall, a good show but not a great show.

  • love hismusic

by bluegeode on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 2 out of 5

I love Alan jacksons music and his singing, but his stage presence leaves something to be desired. I found he did not interact with the audience. Yes he did say glad to be in Ontario and thanked Canadians for there support, but he was not very animated. I think he could have had been al ittle more outgoing with the audiance.

  • Alan Jackson

by Bellelady on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent songs, the place was packed, the lighting and background pictures were great, Alan threw guitar pics into the audience and signed autographs.

  • Excellant concert

    by Steved61 on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great Alan sang constantly for an 11/2 hrs and it great. I must admit the ticket prices and T shirts were very expensive, but the tickets were well worth the price

  • Yet another amazing performance by A.J.!!

by NiKa on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

Another great performance by an entertainer who really never forgets his roots or those of his fans. Every time my wife and I have seen him he has always been able to incorporate local scenes and/or events the crowd can relate to. P.S. A current coworker previously worked with Alan and has stated numerous times that he his truly the genuine and sincere person that he appears to be...A small town country boy who's family and friends are his world!

  • Alan Jackson Show at Casino Rama Excellent

    by greenriver248 on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

We really enjoyed his group and his video display along with the entertainment, it was just a little short 2 hours would have been great with a 10 minute break for him.

  • Alan Jackson was incredible

by daisydinkle on 2009-09-26Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to many concerts over the years but on Thursday I took my 76 year old mom and my husband to Rama to see Alan Jackson .He put on such a fabulous show it was worth every penny to see him. He came out on stage right at 8:00 with his band and pretty much sang right up to the end of his show . Not much talking just singing. He has taken such interest in the fans by putting up some videos and such on the big screens behind him. We were not the closest but my mom was laughing at some of the videos.

  • not memorable

by billyj on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 3 out of 5

the show lacked that 'special' ingrediant that would have made it something to be proud to be in attendance. the price left me feeling that i certainly didn't get the concert i was hoping for. I have been a hugh fan since ' Too cold at home" but very disappointed in the live show. he has a great voice, sounded just like the cd's, but basically was not much better than watching old videos...just a lot more expensive

  • songs were great,

by slammer on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 3 out of 5

songs were great, seating was great, videos were great...the only draw back was, i drove 2 hours to get there played some cards went in and watched Alan Jackson play for only one hour 15 min. ??? that included 1 song oncore??? then i had a 2 hour drive home. i think he should have played longer for the $ we payed for tickets. Seen Travis Trit 2 times and he played for close to 2 hours well worth it... I would still recomened Alan Jackson to friends but would tell them not expect a long show.

  • Slightly disappointed

by anny on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 3 out of 5

Although I love Alan Jackson, my friend and I felt the concert lacked entertainment. The band are awesome and Alan's singing is excellent, but there was something "missing", having said all that I wouldn't have missed the opportunity.

  • Alan was Amazing

by LuckyDee on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

This was truly an unforgettable event! Alan must have played for 1 1/2 hours straight, no wardrobe changes, no bs, just great music! I'd go see him again in a heartbeat.

  • Alan Jackson was great!

by Mudsy on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fanatastic, enjoyed every minute of it.

  • Alan Jackson proves he's a country legend!

by IrishBlues on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

Alan Jackson continues to sing true country like the legends: Merle Haggard, Box Car Willie, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson. I have never had an hour and a half concert fly by so quickly. He is a gentleman and from the songs he's written a true small town family man. He had no need to use gimmicks or politics to keep his fans entertained - his voice and his songs do that for him. It is wonderful to know that Alan Jackson will keep traditional country music on the charts! Way to go AJ!

  • Cool dude

by clob on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

He is an amazing guy, very cool, very reserved, very good entertainer, Would go back to see him anytime.
