About

After establishing himself as one of country's biggest stars and consistent hitmakers over two decades, Alan Jackson undertook a labor of love in 2013 and released his first bluegrass album, appropriately dubbed The Bluegrass Album. Despite being somewhat of a niche release, it still reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, a testament to the huge and loyal fanbase Jackson has built over the years. He's sold more than 60 million albums worldwide over the course of his career, topped the country singles chart over 20 times and counts two Grammy Awards among the many statues in his trophy case. Among his best-known hits are "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Chattahoochee," "Drive (For Daddy Gene)," "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," A Georgia native, Jackson got his big break when his wife, a flight attendant, spotted country-pop legend Glen Campbell in an airport waiting room and slipped him one of Jackson's demo tapes. That led to a contact with Campbell's publishing company and a move to Nashville for the couple. Jackson released his debut album, "Here in the Real World," in 1990, and his new traditionalist style was an immediate hit, spawning five Top 5 hits. As he developed his catalog of hits, ticket sales for his concerts grew steadily. He continues to tour regularly, consistently drawing huge crowds to arenas.

He was awesome, he sings with so much heart. Nothing like live entertainment, don't stay at home and watch T.V. live your life.

My wife and I ( both Alan Jackson fans) took our good friend ( probably the biggest Alan Jackson fan in Canada) who literally spends hours each week listening to his cd's and watching his videos. She quote, told us " this is a dream come true". The show was very professional all around right from the count down on the video screen until the end of the encore. Great vocals, music and ambience!

  • Alan was fantastic

by ChipChips on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 4 out of 5

Alan Jackson is a fantastic singer/songwriter. This is our second time seeing him perform, and we had a blast. He certainly can get the audience involved and singing along in the show. We found the 65 to 70 minute perfomance to be to short. For the price of the tickets, the performance should be 90 minutes (5 star) long.

  • Jackson's A Marketing Genius

    by JB1948 on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

Aside from the fact that Alan Jackson continues to be a solid, and entertaining singer-songwriter and performer, he is a marketing genius who truly understands how to make his fans feel important. All too often, I have attended concerts @ Rama where American big-name performers know they are in Canada, but think they are still somewhere just outside of Toronto. Jackson not only thanked his Canadian fans for supporting him, but clearly understood their roots by making reference to Rama's "big old lake", and concluding the show with "Where I Come From", a tribute to hometowns everywhere which included a delightful slideshow that focused on Orillia and environs.....and also highlighted Ontario icons such as Tim Horton's, the Beer Store, and the LCBO. Jackson clearly knows how to entertain his fans, and make them feel appreciated. Well done!

  • Alan Jackson was stellar!

by SherBar on 2009-09-25Casino Rama - OrilliaRating: 5 out of 5

I have loved Alan Jackson for many, many years. He is an honest, hard working, respectable family man. He loves what he does, and he is good at it. Alan Jackson has been around for many years because he is great at what he does. He tells many stories with the songs he sings that we can all relate to. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the concert and would go to see him again somewhere else. I have been to several concerts at Rama. I love this venue. Everything is top of the line at Rama. You are greeted by friendly staff helping you find your seat, the other patrons are respectful of each other, the music is at a nice volume (loud but not too loud if you know what I mean) you don't have to worry about parking. It is and always has been a great night out. You could make a whole night of it if you wanted. You could come up early and have a relaxing dinner at one of the several different restaurants they offer, watch the top notch concert and then spend an hour or two in the casino. It is just a wonderful atmosphere. I have experienced concerts at other venues and like Casino Rama more than any of the other venues. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing night out on the town!

My husband and I planned a short trip to Ontario around this show as I am a fan of country music, Alan Jackson in particular. We live in Central Scotland so it wasn't exactly a hometown gig for us but I am delighted to say that I wasn't disappointed in the least. Alan Jackson and his superb band delivered a faultless performance and I particularly liked the use of videos which accompanied some of the songs. I'm not usually moved to tears at a concert! It was a very memorable occasion for me. I would love to see him and some of the other big country artists play the UK. I wonder if they realise just what a big following this music has over here. Oh well, maybe one day! Cathy p

The Alan Jackson show on Sept 18, 2009 was TRULY INCREDIBLE, AMAZING AND FANTASTIC. Alan put his whole heart into his performance as he does with his songs. That was the best night of my life and it will always be with me. Alan has an amazing voice, powerful and strong and soft and soothing at the same time. This concert was truly a gift to all of us. Thank you Casino Windsor for such an amazing night.

  • The best show I've ever seen!

The sound was perfect and Alan was just amazing! I really enjoyed being outside with thousands of people. Oh! And Kellie Pickler was so dynamic! I didn't know her, but I will probably buy her CD.

  • The concert was all I expected and more!

by WindsorON on 2009-09-22The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

There would not have been a bad seat in the house! We were on the side and could see most of the stage so we didn't have any problems. As for music, it was amazing! The band played almost continuously for 90 minutes! Alan definitely said it best when he said they weren't a band who spent much time talking to the audience. They would much rather just play. And they did! Also did a fabulous slide show on Windsor!

  • Alan Jackson put on a great show

by Bifflestewart on 2009-09-21The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 4 out of 5

Alan Jackson put on a great show waith most of the more popular songs being sung, for example: Chattahouchie,Remember when, and His popular Jimmy Buffet song.He also did a tribute song to his father, which was heart warming. The only complaint we have is that his show was seemingly short.I would have liked to see it go at least 2 hours. Perhaps on a future return show, he could add a couple of the older songs from when he started out in his singing career.

  • Alan Jackson was amazing

The venue at Caesars Windsor is awesome!! It is just big enough to attract great performers, and small enough to have the most amazing sound system!! Alan Jackson was fantastic, to hear him perform live was a thrill of a life time.
