  • Wonderful experience

by Grandma on 2025-09-16Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Took 2 grand girls aged 5 and 6 who love dancing. Bought them dresses, capes, braclets in front shop. Ladies working there so nice. Sat 3rd row from stage center. Expensive but worth it.. booster seats a must. They loved the show as did I. Kept their attention. I read thrm them the story before hand twice showed them pictures of the dancers in costume. They understood the story. That made a huge difference, made their experience. Photo with dancer at intermission. They felt special. She was so friendly.

  • Beautiful music, scenery and costumes.

by Nya on 2025-09-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The show was overall lovely: the music was fantastic, the scenery and costumes gorgeous, and the idea behind the show appealing to both adults and kids. The storyline was sometimes getting gratuitous - some fairly tales could have been omitted without losing any substance. I felt both acts would have worked better if they were 40-45 minutes long and skipped some scenes that didn't add much to the story. A pleasant evening but the ballet was less compelling that the one based on the Grimm Tales - that one was simply spectacular. I'd make Grimm a staple Halloween feature to match the Nutcracker for Christmas.

  • Best show ever!

by Lemazana7nohena on 2025-09-15Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

The show was phenomenal! My girl Alice as the Queen of Hearts absolutely stole the spotlight with her strength, grace, and spot-on comedic timing. The costumes overall were gorgeous and beautifully detailed—seriously stunning! HOWEVER… why was Cindy in a green dress? Somebody explain?! Nearly every other princess was dressed in historically accurate, iconic attire—except Cinderella. Why not her signature blue gown, especially when her prince was styled in blue? It felt a little off, and I couldn’t stop noticing it. Other than that, everything about the show was amazing. Definitely a night to remember.

Having been to Barcelona, I loved the sets, but also the beautiful fans, and costumes. And we can't forget the adorable pony. Last, but certainly not least were the wonderful performers and their story telling. It was a fast-past, animated and most enjoyable evening.

  • Amazing performance!

by Tulip on 2025-05-05Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I would recommend for everyone to see this amazing performance! I first visited Alberta Ballet 20 years ago and have to say it improved A LOT since then. Incredible dancing, great costumes. I was impressed by the way Spanish character pieces were handled: sharp and precise. This was third time I took my daughter to see Alberta Ballet and she enjoyed every moment of it. Thank you all the dancers and everyone involved in creating these performances for helping our children learn to appreciate ballet!!! The only thing I was personally missing, was a live orchestra which could add a lot to this great experience. We will definitely come back and recommend Alberta Ballet to everyone we know.
