All of Us (Featuring the Music of The Tragically Hip) - Alberta Ballet Tickets

As someone who is not a ballet enthusiast, this was a very entertaining show! To me, it was similar to Cirque du Sooleil, but for ballet instead of acrobatics. It helped that I’m a big fan of The Hip, but that aside, the skills of the dancers was very impressive. Being a non-traditional ballet, it was very evident that the dancers were really enjoying themselves. I would definitely go see another ballet with this type of theme.

Having not been a long term follower of the Hip this Ballet and work of artistic impression of the historical works of the hip certainly brought us up to speed. We loved the show and the interpretation developed by choreographer Jean Grand-Maitre.

At the intermission I wasn’t ready for it to be half over already. And by the end I knew I HAD to go see it again. It was a beautiful story of our shared humanity (Ubuntu). And the music was perfectly chosen to tell the story. So many rich layers, I Loved every minute of it.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this as I have never been to a ballet before. It was phenomenal. The choreography was so well done, the dancers were so talented. How they decided to dance to the songs for it to make the story line fit was fabulous!!! Loved it!

I thought the show was pretty good. I was not a fan of the rape scene and the victim shaming scene after that. Other than those two scenes, it was great. The lighting in particular was so good.

The choreography was spectacular in the apocolyptic light vs dark / good vs evil set to the Tragically Hip’s expansive and diverse music.

Wow, what a beautiful and creative explosion for all the senses. From the wonderful choreography, dancers performance and facial expressions, stage sets and lighting, all set to the music of the Tragically Hip, this is one - if not the best - Alberta Ballet show I've seen in a long time. The selection and sequence of Tragically Hip songs and storyline was very well done. My hats off to Alberta Ballet!

Unbelievable!!! If you love the Tragically Hip, you will LOVE this event!!! Even if you have never been to a ballet before, you will absolutely love this event. I hope this production goes on Tour!!! I can't wait to see it again! What a beautiful tribute to Gord Downie and praise for the unforgettable music that the Hip shared with us.

Great show, with an interesting plot. A must-see for every Tragically Hip fan.

I am a lifelong, devoted fan of The Tragically Hip. I've studied their anthology, their poetry, Canadian geography reference, and their relevance to Canadian culture. I've covered the tragically hip's songs live both in a full band and solo. I've played their songs for friends at camp fires, and for colleagues at work parties. Every detail of the song selection, the narrative, the set design, lighting, performance, was exquisite. How the artistic direction balanced both well-known songs and the not-popular, but arguably more intellectually enriching songs, was a work of genius. I was on the verge of tears of joy and catharsis almost the entire performance. I couldn't believe it. I would recommend this ballet to anyone, from roughnecks to socialites - and even that sentiment is a testament to The Tragically Hip's ability to transcend the cultural, social-economic, geographical divides within Canada and look in the same direction at ourselves. Please watch this. And to the organizers, please take this show on the road across Canada. People need to see this. I would watch this over and over and over again.

I thought this was tremendous! Very unique and creative, and it used the Hip’s music very effectively.

This was an excellent show/performance. My wife and I took our granddaughter, 12, and she thoroughly enjoyed it She is to young to be a real Hip fan but after, she is now. The entire afternoon was great, my wife nearly came to tears at the end, fantastic

I have seen a few performances by the Alberta Ballet. I'm always amazed by the strength and endurance of these dancers. Great story.. Gord Downie would be so proud.

This show was absolutely breath taking. The costumes, the storyline and the music were so captivating. I hope that this show returns to Calgary again in the future. I would definitely see it again. I believe this could become a Canadian classic!

The stage, the costumes and the ballet were unbelievable. Everything was absolutely amazing if you get a chance the show is a must see!!

This was the best show and performance I have seen at the Alberta Ballet! The choreography, story and technical difficulty were all truly impressive! I had a great moment while watching where I felt truly blessed to see such a Canadian performance. I'd see this show again!

Being a very new patron of the Alberta Ballet, attendance to two shows thus far, I do not have years of experience to draw from. Nonetheless “All of Us” was beautiful to experience for me. Emotionally executed and true “edge of my seat” performing had me enthralled in every minute of the performance. Not bad for a guy who’s stuck in the action film genre. Thank you to Jean Grand-Maître for creating great artistry, the dancers for their craft and all behind the scenes for a great show and my conversion to appreciate the ballet!

This was an unforgettable ballet put on by Alberta Ballet. It helped redeem Alberta Ballet in my eyes after a terrible production of Cinderella.
