BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
When members of Allah-Las met in 2008 during their days working at the famed Los Angeles record store Amoeba Music, they knew they had a strong musical connection and decided to form a band. Drawing comparisons to '60s English rockers the Kinks and the Zombies, the outfit incorporates instrumental jam sessions and otherworldly guitar riffs into their unique sound, simultaneously paying homage to surf music from the '60s. With the release of several singles including 2011's "Catamaran/Long Journey" and 2012's "Tell Me (What's On Your Mind)/Sacred Sands" came widespread attention from critics, who praised the band for their throwback sound. Allah-Las debuted their self-titled LP in late 2012, winning over thousands of fans with tours throughout Europe, the UK, and the eastern United States. Known for their blissful live performances, Allah-Las wow ticket buyers at home and abroad every time they take the stage.

I’ve waited a long time to see Allah-las in concert and a 1-hour set ( including encore) was a Little disappointing! 30 more minutes would have been perfect… Besides, the first part was not really convincing cause it was the Allah-las organist playing ambiant music, not really a spécial guest as it was announced!
I love Allah-Las and their vibes but… in Montreal last Monday, one of the two opening act didn’t showed up and then Allah-Las start playing at 21:05 and finished (encore included) at 22:05. Really? A 60 minutes show for a band with 5 LPs? Why?… 😟
Pretty solid performance. Was disappointed in the crowd for the two opening acts, both acts were quieter and the crowd for some reason comes in to talk through acts. (never understand some come into a venue to talk while bands are on stage?) Having said that the sound needed to be turned up for them, love Mapache but could not hear them well. Allah-Las, was solid and capitivated the audience, good show, I would see them again.
